Oh, How You Sparkle!

1
Wow, September is getting away from me fast! I really must get a handle on it... my blogging is getting a bit sluggish and some of you may be missing me a bit. Or not. I hope you are missing me :) Otherwise, what am I doing this for?! I guess ultimately, it had better be for myself. That is why I craft. To find my serenity in creating beautiful things. And to share what I create, hoping to inspire others. There are so many talented people out there who love this craft.
Well, enough of this babbling! I have a technique card to share with you! Stampin Addicts Recycle Challenge #3 is Split Negative. I haven't done this technique much, I am not all that big on black and white, but I can mix it up.

I took a snowflake image and embossed it in Iridescent Ice and Pewter. Great shimmer going on here. It looks wonderful in real life, I hope I caught that in the photos. And I put the Core'dinations paper to good use here too. I almost didn't have room for the Merry at the bottom! And look Ma, no banners! Check out the Pinterest board for this challenge and be sure to repin/like your favorites!

Don't forget this month's special! You know you need you some butterflies!

This month I am going to try something new to me. The Hostess Code! I will have an on-line workshop open for the month of September. If you place an order of $35 with me using the September Hostess code 49PT9E3N
then I will send you a two-card kit featuring the Butterfly Bundle!

Sun and Sail

I have had this cute little sailing set for about a month and hadn't played with it until now. I love it! Why did I wait for summer to be almost gone to start playing with it?!
You know, I have never been sailing. I have been out on fishing boats, canoes, rafts, row boats, paddle boats, and pontoons. I have even watched Dragon boats! And they do have sailboats on Lake Bemidji. I might have to remedy this next summer...

I can't wait for there to be an appropriate birthday for me to send this, hehe! This came together really fast. The fact that this is a photopolymer set helps a bunch as you can see where you are stamping :)

As for the special I mentioned in the title, here it is!

Butterflies: A Challenge... and a Special!

Happy September!! I love September. It still feels a little like summer, and the temps come down to a more comfortable level. But there is plenty of time for summery stuff! What is more summery than butterflies? I bet you have tons of summer photos that could use a little butterfly somethin-somethin :)

Well, I needed a wedding card for my dear friend Jill, who got married last night. Congrats Jillie-bean! (forgive the grainy photo) I worked with this lady for 6 years and I really miss working with her. She is a fabulous nurse :) She had to have a bright and happy wedding card.

I used this sketch from Fab Friday to come up with this:

Now, I know you are looking at this and saying "That says happy birthday. That's not a wedding card!" Well, this is not exactly the card she got. I gave her the card before I took a photo, so I made another one. There is a certain young lady who has a birthday coming up that I thought would like this card design also.

I also made this envelope gift bag for the Recycled Challenge #2 over at StampinAddicts.com. There is a video there on how to make a little gift bag from an envelope! How cute is that?! I actually made this first, then decided I needed a matching card :)
