Stamp Review Crew: Lift Me Up Edition

http://stampreviewcrew.blogspot.com/2016/12/lift-me-up.html
Are you ready for an uplifting blog hop?! The Stamp Review Crew is ready to deliver πŸ˜ƒ The Lift Me Up stamp set and coordinating dies have so many great uses, it is a must have in your stamping arsenal. I have never seen hot air balloons in real life, but is on my bucket list to go on a hot air balloon ride, and to watch a field of them go airborne. They are so colorful, and a ride in one would give you a leisurely view of the world from above. This from someone who is not all that fond of heights! πŸ˜‚

For those who are new to the Stamp Review Crew, here is a little background. We are an international group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators that gets together on the first and third Mondays of every month to do a blog hop. Each hop features a single stamp set to give you loads of inspiration for that set! The hops are archived at the Stamp Review Crew blog, and you will be able to click through each hop at any time, going directly to the posts for that hop whenever you want! And you can click on the banner of this post to go to the master blog roll for this hop also.

If you are following along in order, then you have just arrived from the delightful Heidi Bak's blog, and I am sure that she was inspiring 😊

For my first project, how about a little sunrise or sunset sky soaring? This was a super easy look to achieve. Here is how I did it.
  • Cut a piece of watercolor paper to 4"x5¼", tape down to a board with painter's tape. Sponge Watermelon Wonder in a rough circle in the center of the panel. Sponge Peekaboo Peach around the Watermelon circle, then sponge Crushed Curry over the remaining white space. Spritz with water until you get some movement in the colors. Air dry or dry with heat tool. I used my heat tool.
  • With a scrap of watercolor paper at least 2½"x3", wipe with Embossing Buddy, then stamp the balloon in Versamark and Copper heat emboss. After it cools, die cut the balloon with the coordinating die. Use Aqua-painter or a watercolor brush to add Peekaboo Peach and Crushed Curry coloring.
  • Take a piece of Vellum that is at least 4"x3", wipe with Embossing Buddy, and stamp the sentiment in Versamark, Copper heat emboss. Trim to create a strip about 1½"x4".
  • Stitch the sentiment strip to the watercolor panel and continue the stitching all the way around the panel.
  • Adhere the balloon to the panel with dimensionals.
  • Adhere the completed panel to a Thick Whisper White card base with Fast Fuse or Tear and Tape.
  • Inside, ink up half of the balloon image with Crushed Curry, and the other half with Watermelon Wonder. Then use a sponge with Watermelon Wonder ink on it to blend the colors in the middle of the stamp. Stamp inside the card. All done!
Here is the inside with the ombre balloon. Sweet, right?!

Then I made these little treat envelopes. They are so easy peasy! They are made with the Envelope Punch Board with the 3"x4" card settings. Then when you glue it together, leave a narrow end flap up instead of a wide end flap! There is some Copper heat embossing and watercoloring done on one, and Copper heat embossing on the other with Clear Wink of Stella added to the balloon on the other.

Last up, I used the Sending Love Glassine Sheets with the Mini Treat Bag die to create this bag. The Banners dies helped with the DSP. This one was a quick project too!

Now it is time to see the amazing design stylings of Charlet Mallett!!

Balloons, Clouds, and Cupcakes: Stampin' Up! Artisan Blog Hop

Welcome to another Artisan blog hop! This time we have to out to Lift You Up! We are all featuring the delightful hot air balloon suite from the Occasions Mini. There are so many great features to this stamp set, and the coordinating dies compliment it so very well. I can't wait to share all the fun stuff we made with you 😁

If you are following along in order, then you just arrived from the wonderful Sylwia Schreck's blog, Wonderful stuff!!

OK, I have to confess. I made a PILE of projects with this suite. I just couldn't stop! These are a few of the projects I made. You will see more in the near future 😊 I love the variety of sentiments, and the fonts in this set! So fun, whimsical and easy to read!

First up is this birthday card.
  • Start with a 4"x5¼" panel of watercolor paper, and apply washes in Dapper Denim, Island Indigo, and Pool Party in an ombre pattern.
  • Take a 4"x5¼" piece of vellum, wipe with Embossing Buddy, stamp clouds in Versamark ink all over, then White heat emboss.
  • Cut the Happy Birthday stamp apart so you cam separate the parts of the sentiment. Stamp part on a scrap of Dapper Denim in Versamark and Silver heat emboss. Figure out where you will place this strip on the vellum panel, then stamp and Silver heat emboss the second part of the sentiment on the vellum.
  • Use Clear Wink of Stella to color in the clouds, making them shimmery. The shimmer dries quickly and does not smear! It looks awesome in real life, but is hard to capture in a photo.
  • Stitch vellum to the watercolor panel.
  • Adhere the Dapper Denim sentiment strip to the cardfront.
  • Adhere the finished panel to a Thick Whisper White card base.
  • Stamp the clouds in Smoky Slate inside the card, apple Clear Wink of Stella on the clouds. All Done!

Here are those little clouds on the inside. You will have to take my word for it that they are shimmery 😏

I keep trying to capture the shimmer on camera! Ugh... but this gives a close up on the ombre effect behind the vellum 😊

Next up I have a couple of cute little gift bags that have self closures. I made a video tutorial for this project.

Aren't these fun and easy! I know I will be using this idea a lot in the future😁

Here is a little side view of one of these open. And these cover birthdays and any love occasion.

I can always use more cards that are good for any occasion, and this is a great sentiment for just that! The coordinating dies make it super easy to create fun stripes behind the intricate diecut hot air balloon. I did make the stripes all shimmery with Clear Wink of Stella, but I still need to work on my photography skills πŸ˜’ I do love the feeling of windiness the embossing creates behind the fun Carried Away DSP, though!

Inside, more cute little clouds.

Well, that's it for this post. Be sure to come back soon to see what else I have made with this set 😊
I am the last stop on the hop, but if you started somewhere in the middle, then you definitely want to click on over to the first stop on the hop, Allison Okamitsu!
