Here we are, at the end of the year. What a good time to reflect. And a great time to use the Love What You Do stamp set!
What
is the Stamp Review Crew, you ask? We are an international group of
Stampin' Up! demonstrators that gets together to do a blog hop on the
first and third (and sometimes on a fifth) Monday of each month. For
each hop we chose a single stamp set for us all to use, and then we let
our creativity loose! We have a blog with all of the hops archived, so
you can hop through any of the hops any time. Click here to go to the blog to see all of the hops! To go to the specific post for this hop, click here, or on the banner above.
If you are following along in order, I am the first stop. If you started somewhere in the middle, you arrived from Kelly Kent's blog. She is so amazing! 😁
Here is another Mini Treat Bag project. They were still available on the clearance rack until recently. So sorry. But this translates to a card very easily.
The paper is from the Garden Impressions DSP stack, and I think the florals from the set coordinate well with the patterns in the paper.
I also used some new product, namely the Rectangle Stitched framelits! The Tin Tile embossing folder is perfect in the background.
The flowers are white heat embossed on watercolor paper, colored with an aquapainter and ink from the lids of Lovely Lipstick and Shaded Spruce ink pads, then fussy cut.
The insert is stamped too, and with the large background image, it was easy to create the watercolor wash look.
Next up is Holly Krautkremer with her masterful layering!

Stamp Review Crew: Barn Door
Well, hello SRC blog weekend! Boy, these sure sneak up on me quick lately. I had just finished working 6 out of 7 days, and making a trip out of town to take my stepfather to an appointment, when I got a text warning me that my oldest son and family were coming for the weekend and would probably beat me home! Then on Saturday, one of my sons asked if I had any blogging deadlines this weekend. THAT is when I realized I did indeed have a deadline, and that I was not even sure which set I was supposed to use. I tell you. But, I managed to pull together a project to share using the Barn Door stamp set and coordinating dies.
These are available in the Annual Catalog, so if you need to wait for the new year for you stamping budget to return, you can!
If you are following along in order, you just arrived from the talented Heidi Baks' blog.
I love a blue door. LOVE. And I would have one, if it looked good on my house. I will have to settle for a blue door card.
The door is watercolor panel with a Pacific Point wash in layers, and the door stamped in the same color, then clear heat embossed. The handle is silver heat embossed.
There is a die that cuts the door out for you too. 😁
The square wreath was a scrap of watercolor paper sponged with Call Me Clover ink, then spritzed with water. And die cut 3 times before layering them together for some dimension.
The sentiment is from the Peaceful Noel stamp set, and is silver heat embossed also.
I don't think you can see it in the photos, but the background panel is embossed with the Subtle embossing folder.
There are still red rhinestones available, but I did not purchase any. So I used a Cherry Cobbler Blends marker to color some of the rhinestones that I do have.
The sentiment is again from the Peaceful Noel stamp set. I would love to play with that set some more, but I don't think I will get to it before the new year. That's OK. I tend to make more Christmas cards in January, February, and July than any other time of year. 😆
Are you ready for the next "door" to open?! Off you go to check out the fabulous Cindy Elam!

Stamp Review Crew: Alpine Adventure
Ahh, winter is here! What better time to play with the gorgeous Alpine Adventure stamp set. It is perfect for Christmas and all things snowy. There is an awesome coordinating die set too.

If you are following along in order, I am the first stop! But if you started somewhere in the middle, you just arrived from Sue Plote's blog. She took a break for a while, and this is her first hop back. Be sure to give her a warm welcome back!
I just had to combine this set with the Snowfall thinlits, which are sadly no longer for sale. However, if you have them, you can certainly use them!
This is an ornament, so it had to be sturdy. Each element is actually 3 layers of diecut paper glued together.
And the snowflake was painted with watered down Frost White shimmer paint.
The greeting is Copper heat embossed on a Stitched Details diecut.
The little wooden snowflake? That is from last year's Holiday Mini, and is the first time I have used them! Do you have some in your stash?
This is the first of 2 sleds I made. There is no layer between the Galvanized Tin paper and the Wood Textures DSP layer. It looks great! But I like more. And isn't that wreath sweet?!
This sled has 2 layers of white cardstock under the Wood Textures DSP layer. LOVE.
And the snowflake is Frost White shimmer painted also.
I actually took several quarter sheets of paper and painted them with some shimmer paint mixed with a little water, then did the die cutting. Much easier, and so beautiful!
Did you know you can stamp over the shimmer paint too?
This is a cocoa packet made with the Mini Treat Bag die, which is still on the clearance rack. I am telling you, this is a workhorse die in my stash. I use it all the time. At the time of the writing of this post, it was still available on the clearance rack for $24 USD.
And the embellishment on the front is also an ornament! This time I used the white glitter paper. I can't remember what we are calling it now, but it used to be the Dazzling Diamonds glitter paper.
Next up is Stesha Bloodhart, who recently achieved the honor of being chosen for Artisan Design Team for 2019! Congratulations Stesha, you are a true Artisan!

Here you can see the insert card, which is stamped with the skis.
Look at that dazzling snowflake! And the gorgeous Nordic details on the snowshoes.
I made a bunch of all of these ornaments and brought them with me when we went to the hospital for the latest grandbaby's delivery. We gave them to the medical staff taking care of our daughter and granddaughter.
This is the sweet Eva (A-va) Jane! She was born on Nov. 25th at 8:26pm. She really is a sweet baby, only cries a few squeaks before she calms right down. We are so excited to add this baby to the family!
OK, enough grandma gushing, time to head to the next stop!
