Inky Friends: Blending a Year of Cheer

Welcome December! It is time for the Inky Friends monthly blog hop, and this time we are each taking a month of the year, picking something about that month to feature, and using Stampin' Blends to do it!

If you are following along in order, then you have just arrived from July and "Welcome to the Neighborhood" on Sharleen Luciano's blog!

So, when I was trying to pick a theme for August, I had lots of thoughts. The Dog Days of Summer, Garden Bounty, Adventures in Camping, Wet and Wild Water, Picnics and Parks.... I even thought about using a bunch of these ideas together! (I do tend to try to bite off more than I can chew 😏) But I finally settled on Refreshing Beverages! And we have several boozy stamps set to play with, and they never seem to get enough attention. I'm gonna work on that 😎

Mixed Drinks and Blends from Stampin' Up! Who doesn't want some cold ones in August?! Alcohol markers are a breeze to color with. ~Tanya Boser for Inky Friends
This first card is all about the backyard and casual. I used the Mixed Drinks stamp set with the Daffodil Delighr, Pumpkin Pie, Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, and Crumb Cake Blendas.

The drink inside was colored with Blends, then cut out and adhered to the card base. That avoids the whole markers bleeding through issue 😊

The sentiment is from Sunshine Sayings.

Tuscan Vineyard and Blends from Stampin' Up! create a wine themed birthday card. ~Tanya Boser for Inky Friends
Next up we have a little Tuscan Vineyard action going on. Loads of colors here, with lots of blending of colors. Believe it or not, those mountains are Pink Pirouette and Rich Razzleberry, with a smidge of Ivory!

The background is Fresh Fig cardstock with Clear heat embossing. This sentiment is from Ready to Pop!

Half Full and Blends from Stampin' Up! make a fun wine bottle tag ~Tanya Boser for Inky Friends
My last project is a wine bottle tag. I know, I have made a ton of these lately! But you know what? I Don't have any left! People keep buying them 😍

This time I used Half Full, from the 2017 Holiday Mini. I love this set!! I really hope it carries over into the next Annual Catalog....

Here is a tutorial on how to make the wine tags!

Fun to see what colors you used for the drinks and the mountains. The shading of the liquids is superb! I took note of how you left a tiny bit uncolored too- very cool effect!

I was thinking iced tea in various glasses, but that works too! SO cute!! Your wine bottle is great for teaching me about leaving the left side white to show reflective light too as I struggle to wrap my mind around it! :)
