Stamp Review Crew: 2017 SAB Edition

http://stampreviewcrew.blogspot.com/2017/01/2017-sab-free-for-all.html
Welcome! It is Sale-A-Bration time! The time of year that Stampin' Up! demos adn customers everywhere stock up on essentials, and get lots of fabulous stuff from the Annual catalog and Mini catalog to earn lots of free stuff! I know I love the sets that Stampin' Up! offers during SAB, and can't wait to get them all  πŸ˜€ We are going to help you feel that way too  πŸ˜‰

For those who are new to the Stamp Review Crew, here is a little background. We are an international group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators that gets together on the first and third Mondays of every month to do a blog hop. Each hop features a single stamp set to give you loads of inspiration for that set! The hops are archived at the Stamp Review Crew blog, and you will be able to click through each hop at any time, going directly to the posts for that hop whenever you want! And you can click on the banner of this post to go to the master blog roll for this hop also.

If you are following along in order, you arrived from the fabulous and fellow Artisan team member,  Rochelle Blok's blog! Doesn't she have amazing ideas?!

I know that most of us have already fallen in love with these quirky chickens, but I could not resist doing get well/encouragement card with this mop top chick! I mean, really, it looks like it has it's head cocked to one side asking "are you ok?" And the new Hexagons embossing folder looks like chicken wire behind her.

The Here for You stamp set has great sentiments, don't you love it?!

See, chicken wire, right?! I stamped the chick in Archival Basic Black on watercolor paper, then used an Aqua-painter and Crumb Cake, Sahara Sand, and Soft Suede to color her body, and Crushed Curry for the feet and beak.

Then I had to do a little watercolor, and thought that a cute general hello card with worldly sentiment and a fun stampin phrase would be perfect to send to one of my many international stampin friends 😊Pink Pirouette and Flirty Flamingo played very well together here.

The Tye Died and Chase Your Dreams stamps sets rounded this card out nicely.

I looked at the Avant Garden stamp set, and this is the idea that popped into my head. Layers of garden and all the metallic embossing powders. I fussy cut the flower layer, but the vellum layer is cut with the edge die from the Detailed Floral thinlits. And the Hexagons came out to play again!

There are lots of layers here, but the dimension is almost all illusion.

Look at that sweet companion sentiment that comes in this set!! Love it.

And now it is time to check out the talented Debra Burgin's blog, Such lovely work!
