Yummy!! Who doesn't love a good frozen treat?! The Stamp Review Crew is featuring the delicious stamp set, Cool Treats, this time! And I can't wait to share the fun projects I made for you 😄
For those who are new to the Stamp Review Crew, here is a little background. We are an international group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators that gets together on the first and third Mondays of every month to do a blog hop. Each hop features a single stamp set to give you loads of inspiration for that set! The hops are archived at the Stamp Review Crew blog, and you will be able to click through each hop at any time, going directly to the posts for that hop whenever you want! And you can click on the banner of this post to go to the master blog roll for this hop also.
If you are following along in order, you arrived from the fabulous Bronwyn Eastley's blog! Love her stuff!!
This card uses the Shimmering Water/Fairy Lights technique that I used on a project recently. I adore this technique! It is a watercolor technique, so of course I do, right?! 😁 The colors I used in this background are Peekaboo Peach, Flirty Flamingo, and Watermelon Wonder. Each of the ice cream scoops is one of those colors too, and the cherry is Watermelon Wonder. I am really going to miss Watermelon Wonder... 😞
Here is the video I made showing the technique. I hope you enjoy it!
And look at the shimmer on the ice cream! Thank you Wink of Stella 😊 My sentiment did not stamp as well as I had hoped, it was the very first time I inked the stamp and I did not test it first... sometimes a stamp needs an inking or 2 before it works perfectly. Lesson re-learned!
These scoops are each stamped off once so they are more subtle, but still add some pizzazz to the inside of the card.
Now how about a shaker card? I got the Sprinkles embellishments ages ago, and I had not really used them. They make fantastic shaker fillers! The coordinating dies for this set do not leave any white edges, which is rather sweet, don't you think?
I embossed the Sahara Sand panel with Clear embossing powder and the Diagonal Stripes background stamp. I purposely rubbed some of the powder off before heating it so it would have a distressed look. The stamp is crisp diagonal stripes.
I used the ink colors that coordinate with the Sprinkles embellishments to stamps some sprinkles inside. Don't you just love that sentiment?! Perfect for a shaker card 😇
And last but not least! This may be my favorite of the three. I am using paper from the Scenic Scenery DSP stack as the background. Then I stamped each of the new In Colors on Whisper White, then used Versamark and the accent stamps to Clear heat emboss some details. Die cut the popsicles, and lookie there! Adorable-ness! I love the pop of color against that DSP! (which I have been hoarding cuz I love it...)
Look at that embossing!! And I popped them up too.
I kept the inside pretty simple. So what do you think of the new colors? Love at first sight? (It was for me!) Or are you going to have to play with them for a while first?
And who is excited that this stamp set is not retiring? Me, me, me!! Pick Me! Summer will be here soon and this will make lots of Cool Cards 😜
And now it is time to check out the talented Charlet Mallett's blog, she is sure to WOW you!

ReplyDeleteWow! Great job. I can't pick a favorite because I love them all. Where did you find the time to do all that stampin? Can't wait to try this fun technique. Great job on the video!
ReplyDeleteAwesome set of cards! That watercolor technique is amazing and so interesting. I need to give it a try. I am also super sad to see Watermelon Wonder go ...
ReplyDeleteI adore that watercolor background, and I actually had something similar (cling wrap background) sitting on my desk. But it didn't make it into a card. I'm definitely going to try with the shopping bag and heat gun. And what do we do when you ban the plastic shopping bags??
