Hello Kindred friends!! It is release week, and I have the honor of featuring The Horror!, which showcases all kinds of scary characters and monsters. It also has loads of awesome, and versatile, sentiments. I had a hard time stopping once I got started 😀
That is quite a pile of projects, right?! Well, let's go into some detail.
The first project I finished was this creepy birthday card. Perfect for all of your horror fanatics! A small confession, I haven't seen any of the movie franchises featured here. I had to do an internet search to figure out how to color them! Too funny, right?!
I kept the background pretty simple, just a large polka dot embossing folder, and watered down Frost White shimmer paint spattered over the black and light gray cardstocks.
The detailed red trim is a die from a Spellbinders Small Die of the Month kit, and I thought it looked like drops of blood.
And here are the Copic colors I used to color the creepy clown:
- Face and Gloves: C01, 0
- Nose/Mouth: RV29, R37
- Hair: E35, E08, R59
- Balloon: RV29, R37, R59
- Collar: V01, V06
- Jacket: V06,B05
- Pants: Y11, Y15, Y17
- Shoes: V06, V09
- Buttons: YR23, YR04
The sentiment was stamped in Versafine Onyx Black on the card base, and on a scrap of cardstock laying in my scrapheap leftover from a card I made with Happy Haunting. I love it when I can use something I already put the time into!
Inside got spatters too, and the clown stamped tone-on-tone on the gray cardstock.
Then, I pulled a tag out of my stash, stamped it with a Hardwood background stamp and the sentiment in black ink. Then I added some leaves leftover from another project, and popped this scary dude on top!
Copic colors for him:
- Face: E11, E13
- Scars: E55
- Shirt: YG95, G94, RV29, R37
- Pants: E55, E13
- Hat/shoes: C05, C07
- Glove: E13, E17
- Eyes: C01
I used the Ornamental die from Concord and 9th. Perfect size! And more spattering with the Frost White shimmer paint. I mean, I already had it out. 😄
Let's do close ups of each of them, shall we?
Our fanged friend is all ready to butter you up!
The bats are made out of black cardstock spritzed with a shimmer spray, then punched out with a bat punch from my stash.
Vampire Copic colors:
- Hair/Pants/Jacket: C05, C07, C09
- Skin: C01, 0
- Reds: RV29, R37, R59
- Purples: V01, V06
All of the sentiments are white heat embossed directly on the ornaments.
Masked Overalls dude Copic colors:
- Mask: W01, W02, W03
- Hair/Eyes: E47, E49
- Clothes: YG95, G94
- Knife: C01, C05, RV29
- Shoes: C05, C07
- Skin: E11, W01
Copic colors for Hockey Mask dude"
- Mask: W01, 0, RV29, C05, C07
- Eyes: C01

- Hair: E47, E49
- Knife: C01, C03, RV29

- Wraps: W01, W03
- Skin: E15, E17, E27
Black and gray bakers twine works well with all of these ornaments.
Green Grrr fellow Copic Colors:
- Hair/Clothes: C05, C07, C09
- Skin: YG95, G94
- Pegs: C01, C03

ReplyDeleteThis was my least favorite set of the release, until I saw what you did with it. I am not into horror movies, but you made these fun by showing them on the ornaments. Also, I enjoyed your blogging. I liked where you added another detail about all of the ornaments, as well as describing the individual design that was pictured as you went through them (I pointed this out because I think good blogging matters, and you did a great job!)
ReplyDeleteThe ornaments are so clever, especially the Dracula and Frankenstein!
ReplyDeleteThe ornaments would look great on my black tree.
