Brick Fruit

Well, my steady diet of fruit is rubbing off on my stamping choices! Here we have three kinds of fruity goodness, with a technique! I talked about how hard it is to find good peaches where I live, but there are lots of strawberries here. And I have found wonderful pears, but mostly in the winter. That is ok, we need fruit in the winter time too! And by eating what is in season, I rotate my foods a bit :)

I made a video for the pear card, and I hope you enjoy it!

All of the cards are on a Crumb Cake card base 4¼"x8½" scored in half, then the colored mat is 3¾" square, and the Whisper White image panel is 3½" square. The vellum strips are about ¾"x3¾".

First up, we have the pear card. I used Pear Pizzazz, Crushed Curry, and Garden Green on this one,

Then the strawberry card uses Watermelon Wonder under a rock-n-rolled Cherry Cobbler, with a Garden Green top.

And the peach card, which uses Peekaboo Peach, Watermelon Wonder, and Emerald Envy.

Here is a little peek inside all of them. Lots of lovely fruit! Now, if you order from me this month, you just might get one of these in the mail :)

Daubered Peaches

It's time for another kind of fruit! I made this card without Designer Series Paper by the way. And it was pretty easy :)

I made another video! I hope that I am getting better at it, and that you all are enjoying watching them.

Do you love fresh, juicy peaches? I sure do, but I have a hard time finding good ones in Northern Minnesota. I long for the peaches that are so ripe, you can smell them across the room and they drip down your chin when you take a big bite :) Well, I decided to make my own peaches! I don't have the Fruit Stand DSP, which has a pattern similar to this pattern. But if you have the stamp set, which I do, you can make your own!
  • The image panel is a 4"x5¼" Whisper White piece. Cardbase is Crumb Cake 5½"x8½" scored at 4¼". Crumb Cake 1"x3½" strip for the sentiment.
  • For each peach, I inked the stamp up in Peekaboo Peach, then used a sponge dauber to apply Watermelon Wonder to the inked stamp. Then stamped, cleaned the stamp to prevent contaminating the Peekaboo Peach pad, and repeated until all the peaches were stamped.
  • I stamped a peach on the inside also.
  • Added stems in just one color, Emerald Envy.
  • Stamped the sentiment on a 1" strip of crumb Cake in Versamark and heat embossed with Copper embossing powder.
  • Made a nest of Copper Thread and stuck it to the cardfront.
  • Stitched around the panel, with the sentiment strip, then adhered the coasters, then the cardbase.

See that cute little peach on the inside? I love how well Crumb Cake takes all kinds of inks!

Peachy Sweet

I have another swap to share with you, and they may have made it to the recipients by now :) I mailed them on Monday and they went from coast to coast :) I had fun using some of my favorite new things from this Annual catalog!

I am actually taking a staycation this week as I had use-or-lose vacation time that I had to use this week, so maybe I can get a bunch of stamping done! I mean, I have a ton of stuff from the new catalog that has not even seen ink yet! I would love to get enough stuff stamped to feed the ever hungry blog-monster for the next few weeks :) I do love having a blog, it gives me a place to share my projects, and hopefully gives my viewers some tips, tricks, and inspiration that you all can use to improve your crafting lives.

And in my quest to do more videos, here is one for this card!

Monochromatic cards are not something I do very often. I like a variety of color, but this one seems to have a good balance of color to white and metallics. And the layers and texture help :)

I don't think I need to go into all the details of how I created this card since there is a video, but please let me know below in the comments if the written directions are something you miss.

Here you can see the dimension on the top of the cupcake a little better.

And I don't think I will ever get tired of the vellum sentiment strips! By doing the heat embossed sentiment on a strip of vellum, I avoid warping the card base. If I was stamping and heat embossing on a watercolor card base, I wouldn't worry about it, but regular cardstock does tend to warp from the heat. I get picky about that kind of thing :)
