Acetate Treat Boxes

I decided to do at least one challenge yesterday and I found this adorable treat box! Susie McCormick made a tutorial and Lynn Merciano posted the challenge with the here. This is an easier project than it looks! I can't wait to show you all how to do it, but we might have to wait until the Retreat when we'll have more time.
Stamps: Pocket Silhouettes, Organic Grace
Paper: Whisper White, Certainly Celery, overhead transparencies (found in the office supply area in Walmart)
Ink: white StazOn, Certainly Celery
Accessories: Scallop edge and Slit punches, Big Bite CAD, Pewter jumbo eyelets, taffeta ribbon, Tombow Mono Multi adhesive

This one is done using Pocket Silhouettes again and the butterfly is from the retired hostess set Cause for Celebration with Almost Amethyst paper.

I did my top closure differently than the tutorial. I glued the top to the box, then punched the holes in the 2 sides and attached eyelets, took a 16" length of ribbon threaded through and knotted the ends. Closed the flaps so the last flap is folding down from the front to back. Now trim of about 1/4" of that flap. Use the Slit punch on the flap right below it on the side that corresponds with the end of the top flap when closed. all done!

3x3" Gift Card Boxed Set

This is a project I started a couple weeks ago, finished, took the pics, then never posted anything! As you can see, I have been loving the new In-Colors and had fun playing with the smaller cards. I was starting to run out of variations because I had 4 cards in each color cut out! Laurie Schmidlin did a lovely tutorial over at splitcoaststampers that I used to make the box.

Stamps: Fresh Cuts, Dreams du Jour, So Many Scallops, Batty for You, Embrace Life, Canvas BG
Paper: Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze, Tangerine Tango, Whisper White, Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip
Ink: Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze, Tangerine Tango, Pink Pirouette or Pretty in Pink ?, Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip, and Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, Night of Navy, and Summer Sun markers
Accessories: die cut machine with scallop and classic square nestabilities, white gel pen, blender pen, dimensionals, 2-way glue pen, dazzling diamonds glitter, Boho Blossoms, Spring Bouquet, Scallop Circle, and various circle punches paper piercer with mat pack, CAD, eyelets

These are the Baja Breeze cards I completed.
  • top left: stamped butterfly from Dreams du Jour in Baja Breeze on card base, inked edges of card base with Pacific Point ink pad. Then Love stamp in Pacific Point on WW, colored image in with blender pen and Pink Pirouette and Kiwi Kiss, then cut image out. Then used 2-way glue pen and Dazzling Diamonds glitter on flower on images. Used Night of Navy marker to ink edges of all matting layers, adhered layers together and centered on card, then used dimensionals to pop image up.
  • top right: stamped background stamp from Fresh Cuts in Baja Breeze on card base, inked edges with Pacific Point ink pad. Stamped Love image in Pacific Point on Baja Breeze square, colored images, applied dazzling diamonds, inked edges of layers with Night of Navy marker, glued all to card base.
  • bottom left: on card base stamped vine stamp from Fresh Cuts in Kiwi Kiss. Then flower stamp in Pacific Point using stamp-off technique. Used Canvas BG and Baja Breeze ink over top of all this stamping. Use Boho Blossoms punch on Kiwi Kiss, Pacific Point, and Baja Breeze paper, ink edges of everything with Night of Navy Marker. Use paper piercer and mat pack to make stitch marks on smallest square layer, use white gel pen to make create faux stitches. Glue layers together, use CAD to attach flowers to center of layers with a gold eyelet. Glue all layers to card base.
  • bottom right: stamp flower branch from Embrace in Baja Breeze on card base. Stamp dreams stamp in Pacific Point on WW paper. Color image with blender pen and Baja Breeze and Kiwi Kiss ink. Cut image out. Ink edges of layers and card base with Night of Navy marker. Glue all layers together.

And the Kiwi Kiss.... these are just variations of the other cards so I won't do directions for these.
And the only Pacific Point card I finished. It has to be one of my favs and it looks much more vivid and detailed in real life!

  • to make the butterfly, I stamped the image in Night of Navy, colored with Summer sun marker, blender pen and Pacific Point ink. Used white gel pen on wings. Used 2-way glue pen and dazzling diamonds to add sparkle to the yellow parts.

Now I just need to get busy playing today instead of messing around on the computer!

Dreams & Happiness Page

This is the second scrapbook page we did for our August Stamp Club meeting. We got to use some of the new stuff!
Stamps: Dreams du Jour, All Scallops, Heard from the Heart
Paper: Cameo Coral, Pink Pirouette, Kiwi Kiss
Ink: Pink Pirouette, Chocolate Chip, Kiwi Kiss, Cameo Coral, Chocolate Chip and Old Olive markers
Accessories: Scallop edge and scallop circle punches, die cut machine and scallop circle and square dies, blender pens, Stamp-A-Ma-Jig(SAMJ)

  • Stamp the circle and square images from Dreams du jour in Pink ink repeatedly on the Cameo Coral paper.
  • Cut a 2 x 9" strip of Pink Pirouette paper, stamp butterfly from Dreams du Jour repeatedly in same color ink. Ink top, bottom, and left hand edges with Cameo Coral ink pad.
  • Use Choc Chip marker to ink just the word "happiness" from the stamp from Heard from the Heart set and stamp on upper portion of the Pink strip.
  • Die cut a scalloped circle and scalloped square from Pink Pirouette. Stamp images in Choc Chip ink. Use blender pen with Cameo Coral and Kiwi Kiss ink to color flowers and leaves.
  • Punch 1 Pink, 2 Kiwi Kiss, and 2 Cameo Coral scallop circles. Stamp butterfly image on each of the them with coordinating ink. Ink edges of all scalloped shapes using Choc Chip marker by gently rubbing wider part of the brush tip in a downward motion over the edges. This allows you to get into all the crevices.
  • Cut a 4.25 x 5" piece of Kiwi Kiss paper, then use scallop edge punch on one of the long edges. Use SAMJ to stamp the scallops with one of the small scallop images from All Scallops set in Choc Chip ink. Ink edges of scallops and right hand side with Old Olive Marker.
  • Adhere the Pink strip on left hand side of page approximately 1.5" from edges. Adhere Kiwi Kiss piece right against pink strip lining it up with bottom edge. This leaves space for a 5x7" photo. After photo is placed, then Adhere all the scalloped shapes over seam as shown.

All done!

Anniversary Card

Here is the card I made for my friend Karen and her husband Greg. They have been married for 25 years this month! Congrats Karen and Greg! I wanted to make this really special, I hope this is...
Stamps: Baroque Motifs
Paper: Soft Sky, Whisper White, Silver
Ink: Soft Sky
Accessories: Cuttlebug with scalloped oval Nestibilities and Olivia alpha for the numbers, SAMJ, white gel pen, rhinestones, dimensionals

I found my inspiration from Michelle whose SCS name is mybelle101. Thank you Michelle, yous is beautiful! I put the phrase from the front of here card inside mine. It reads " Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but in the moments that take our breath away" Isn't that just beautiful!

Cupcake Cards

These are the cupcake cards that we made for Club this month, aren't they fun?! There are so many great examples on splitcoast, I had to try to make these with the girls!

Stamps: Baroque Motifs, One Smart Cookie, Hugs & Wishes
Paper: Close to Cocoa, Whisper White, and Apricot Appeal CS/DP from Print Pack or Pretty in Pink CS/DP from Print Pack
Ink: Close to Cocoa and Apricot Appeal or Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip marker
Accessories: cupcake template I made, paper snips, paper crimper, large and small oval punches

  • First I cut the card bases, 4 x6", then folded in half so fold is at the top and it now measures 4" wide by 3" tall. Traced the cupcake base onto paper and cut out. Or you can measure down 3/4" from top fold on each side and mark wit a pencil, then measure in 3/4" from each side and mark on bottom edge. Then use paper cutter to trim a diagonal cut on each side, then hand cut to create a rounder corner. I know, clear as Mud!
  • Traced "frosting" template onto 3 x 5" piece of Close to Cocoa and cut out. Stamp the Swirl stamp from Baroque Motifs with Chocolate Chip ink a couple times on the "frosting". Use Chocolate Chip marker to ink the edges.
  • Take a 3 x 6" piece of DP and run it through the paper crimper with the narrow edge going through first.
  • Center the crimped DP on the card base, flip over and cut to fit the card base. You can also lightly run the coordinating ink pad over the raised areas to highlight them, and around the edges of the card.
  • Apply adhesive to the back of the lower half of the "frosting" and glue to the top of the card base, making sure that together they are no more than 4 1/4" tall-so it will fit in the envelope :)
  • Take the little Cake stamp from One Smart cookie and ink with the Apricot Appeal or Pretty in Pink ink and stamp repeatedly on a scrap of WW CS.
  • Now Use the "you take the cake" stamp from One Smart Cookie set and stamp over the little cakes in Choc Chip ink.
  • Center phrase in the small oval punch and punch out. Use large oval punch with coordinating CS and punch out the mat. Glue both together, then glue centered on the "frosting".
  • Stamp "Birthday hugs and wishes" inside card.

All done!

Tropical page

Ok, here is the how-to on the Tropical page for those who are interested.
Stamps: Embrace Life
Paper: Kiwi Kiss, Pink Pirouette, Baja Breeze, Creamy Caramel, and Whisper White
or Baja Breeze, Pink Pirouette, Tangerine Tango, Creamy Caramel, and Whisper White
Ink: Versamark, Kiwi Kiss, Pretty in Pink (on the Pink Pirouette flower), and Baja Breeze or Riding Hood Red(on the Tangerine Tango flower)
Accessories: white EP, heat gun, sponge daubers, Creative Memories cutting system for curvy strips, paper snips embossing buddy
  • First cut 2 skinny 12" long curvy strips of cCreamy Caramel. Set aside.
  • Use embossing buddy on 2 scraps (at least 2 x 4.25") of either Baja Breeze/Pink Pirouette or Tangerine Tango/Pink Pirouette. Then stamp the large flower from Embrace Life twice with Versamark on each of the scraps. Cover with white EP, tap off excess, then heat emboss with heat gun.
  • Use sponge daubers to color centers of flowers with coordinating ink as listed above.
  • Cut flowers out with paper snips and set aside.
  • The leaves are made by taking a long scrap of Kiwi Kiss paper, folding it in half, then running it through a paper crimper at an angle. Then while it is still folded, cut out half ovals with pointy ends to make your leaves. You will need 4 leaves and my scraps were about 1.5 x 7" Easy Huh! Here is where I found the tutorial for this trick by Patty Bennet.
  • Now take a 2 x 12" piece of Whiper White and stamp the branch of leaves randomly in Kiwi Kiss.
  • Now you can glue everything down as pictured, and add your own pictures, title, and journaling!
