Stampin' Addict 2015 New Catalog Blog Hop: Market Fresh

Well, we are just over a month in to the new catalog, which has given us a chance to whip up some great projects with  the new goodies to inspire you! Me and some of stampin friends at Stampin' Addicts have come together to put on this hop and can't wait to share our creations. There is a chat thread set up if you want to share some thoughts over on StampinAddicts.com.

If you are following along in order, then you just came from Carmen's blog where she featured Watercolor Wings. Fantastic, right?!

The set I chose to feature just screams summer to me! Market Fresh is full of lush produce, and some punny sayings ;)

Let's start with a couple of lovely wine bottle tags. Both images are stamped on Very Vanilla with a waterproof ink, such as Stazon, and then colored with a blender pen. For the one on the left, I also created a mask for the image, then using the new masks from the catalog, sponged the background of the entire tag.

I was on a roll making tags, so here are a few more. These are made out of watercolor paper and colored with an Aqua-painter. More sponged backgrounds with the new stencil pack.

You  will also notice that the sentiment on the strawberry image is not the one on the stamp. Lots of people have commented on the possible interpretations of "Just Ripe for You", so I decided to carefully cut that part of the stamp out with my Snips to start the hole, and my rubber scissor to finish the job. And guess what? There are loads of sentiments that fit in the banner! Anything from And Many More...and Teeny Tiny Wishes, one from Watercolor Wings, several from Sprinkles of Life, and so many more!

Then, since this set is so Farmers Market, I had to:

1. Make a berry basket and stamp some grapes on it.
2. Use the Farmers Market DSP!

This little basket is full of cute little 3"x4" cards with matching envelopes. You could fill it with any kind of goodies, but since I was creating for a hop, why not more cards?!

Here are the first three of the six cards I made. The images are all on watercolor paper, colored with Aqua-painters and ink squeezed off ink pads, then fussy cut.

And here are the last of the cards I made. I love to watercolor, so this was such a fun set for me to play with! And you can see, these make adorable cards, especially when paired with the coordinating DSP!

That's all I have this time. Head on over to Holly's blog where she will show her stuff with Garden in Bloom!

Stamp Review Crew: Sprinkles of Life Edition

Wow, it is the first Monday of July, and that means it is time for another Stamp Review Crew hop! We are a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators that get together on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of every month to create a pile of projects featuring one stamp set each hop. Intriguing, right?! You can find the master blog roll, and all of our past hops, by clicking on the banner above, or click here.

This time we are featuring the very special set, Sprinkles of Life. It is so special because for every set sold, Stampin' Up! donates $3 to the Ronald McDonald House Charities! And it has a coordinating punch :)

If you are following along in order, then I am the first stop on the hop this time! Or maybe you came from the last stop, Linda Callahan. Awesome, right!

For my project this time, I make a giant card. You know, for those times when you need a lot of space for all of the messages to be written by everyone in your department at work. A little A2 card just won't cut it! This on is a full sheet of paper folded in half, so it is 5½"x8½". And the polka dot panel is embossed and stamped :) The whole thing did not fit in the embossing folder at the same time, but I made in three passes, lining up the last row of dots each time, letting that row hang over the edge of the platform and placing the top cutting plate just short of the edge of the embossing folder to avoid getting folder-edge creases.

Here is a close up of the cupcakes. I stamped them on watercolor paper and watercolored the frosting with a base of Tangelo Twist and then layered on some Watermelon Wonder to give it some depth. The cupcake wrappers are done in Tip Top Taupe and watercolored also. I cut those out by hand, which was quite easy to do. The frosting was punched out with the Tree Builder punch though.
And I have discovered that the Watermelon Wonder is one of those colors that just does not photograph well for me, I apologize....

That's it for me, time to go check out what Betty Traciak is up to :)
