You Crack Me Up!

Wow,  time just keeps slipping away from me so fast! I meant to try to post everyday this month. Not doing so well. Sorry!
Today's post is all about the eggs! The eggs in Nature Walk that is :) That is the stamp that drew me to this set to begin with. I participated in a swap of 3x3 cards recently and this is one of my submissions. It took a few tries to get it just right ;)

This was my first try. It just didn't have the impact I was going for. I really wanted the eggs to be more colorful and to stand out more. Aren't those bees just vibrate as all get out on the Early Espresso cardstock?! LOVE THAT! And it is just Whisper White Craft ink, no embossing.

And a side view. A good card, but not what I was aiming for...

This was my second try. My hubby said that the sentiment did not match the card and it still wasn't feeling right to me.

And this is the one that made the final cut. Although it may just have been that I was running out of time to get them doe, lol! This is my prototype and I did end up inking all the edges with Early Espresso on the ones I sent.
And that adorable edge? Oh, that was done by laying the bottom edge of the folded card on the Fancy Favor die and running it through the Big Shot. Then I repeated the effect on some First Edition DSP.
  • Stamps: Nature Walk, A Good Egg
  • Paper: Certainly Celery, Baja Breeze, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, First Edition DSP
  • Ink: Certainly Celery, Baja Breeze, Early Espresso, Whisper White Craft
  • Other: Big Shot with Fancy Favor die, Eyelet border punch, Victoria crochet trim
So, which one is your favorite?

Naturally Easter Mini Milk Cartons

Love, Love, Loving this idea from Becky Roberts! This little holder holds 2 of our Mini Milk Cartons and makes a great quick little treat for that someone special :) We made these in club last month. I really need to start posting these quicker! We have club again tomorrow already! It's going to be from 12:00 to 6:00 for an all day event also. Don't miss out!

Lots of fun little details on this project. I guess it would be faster without all the little extras if you were making mass quantities, but I wasn't so here it is!
  • Stamps: Nature Walk, A Good Egg
  • Paper: Rich Razzleberry, Pear Pizzazz, Marina Mist, Naturals White
  • Ink: Pear Pizzazz, Rich Razzleberry, Marina Mist
  • Other: Big Shot with Mini Milk Carton die, Scallop Oval punch, Large Oval punch, Modern Label punch, Itty Bitty Shapes punch pack, 3/4"x15/16" oval punch, Corner Rounder punch, Stampin' Dimensionals, paper cutter with scoring blade, Bone Folder, Paper Snips, stapler, Sticky Strip

We alternated the color of the flowers on the sides and stamped the egg image all over the little carrier.

And I just can't get enough of these little punched flowers with rhinestones or pearls added to the centers! Lots of dimension on this sentiment too. Thanks for stopping by! See you next time :)

Birthday Cones!

This idea has been floating around the web for a while now, This is just my version of it. I don't know who to credit with the original idea though! Sorry! Turned out super cute and we made these in club on February.

It is made with the Petal Cone die and the Lattice Square embossing folder with a little modification.
  • Stamps: Create a Cupcake
  • Paper: Soft Suede, Blushing Bride, Blushing Bride DSP, Naturals White
  • Ink: Soft Suede, Pear Pizzazz, Blushing Bride
  • Other: Big Shot with Petal Cone die and Lattice Square embossing folder, Itty Bitty Shapes punch pack, 1 1/4" Square punch, Rhinestones Basic Jewels, paper cutter, Bone Folder, Paper Piercer (to pick up and place the rhinestones)

On the inside I used the same method to make the trimmed triangle as I did for the pennants.

Cut a Petal Cone piece in Naturals White. Then I trimmed off the tab on the side. Then folded  it in half so there was just one triangular piece showing. Then I trimmed off 1/8" all the way around by lining up the edges with the edge of the silver to the right of the cutting blade on my Fiskars paper trimmer.

The little flowers were inked with markers then stamped. I love this sentiment on the inside, so sweet!
Have fun making your very own Birthday Cones!!

Quilted Owl

Owl time again! Forest Friends has to be one of my all time favorite stamp sets. These little critters are just so darn cute :) This is a card I made for a swap that Chipper hosted and I just got all my swaps back in the mail the other day, so I guess it's safe to post this now ;)

You may have noticed that I have been doing a lot of Reverse Faux Letterpress technique lately. Well, once I started again, I couldn't stop! I have always loves this technique, but as we all know, we go through phases.
This little card is almost masculine, if it weren't for the scallops and curvy edges on the Designer Label punch.  And as always with wood mount stamps, stamp your image first, then punch it out :)
  • Stamps: Forest Friends
  • Paper: Crumb Cake, Peach Parfait, Early Espresso, Pear Pizzazz, Naturals White
  • Ink: Peach Parfait, Early Espresso
  • Other: Big Shot with Perfect Details texture plate, Itty Bitty Shapes punch pack, Designer Label punch, Large Oval punch, Scallop Oval punch, Pearls Basic Jewels

Isn't he ca-ute!! I will use my left overs to give to my customers in their bags of goodies :)
Until next time, Happy Stampin!

Large Tissue Box Cover

I don't know about you all, but we don't buy the little square boxes of tissues. We buy the BIG ones. So many noses you know, lol! And so I decided I had to make a cover for them because I thought the square ones were so darn cute :)

Your pieces will be such:
Box:
  • two 9 3/8" x3 3/4" (front and back) scored at 8 7/8"
  • two 5 1/4" x 3 3/4" (ends) scored at 4 3/4"
  • one 11" x 6 7/8" (top) scored at 1" all four sides-then cut in at four corners to form tabs
Panels:
  • two 8 1/2" x 3" (front and back)
  • two 4 3/8" x 3" (ends)
  • two 8 5/8" x 3/4" (front and back lips)
  • two 4 1/2" x 3/4"  (end lips)
  • one 8 5/8" x 4 1/2"   (top)

    Holes:
You will need to cut an opening in the center top of your box. Use whatever cutting device you have making sure the hole in the panel is smaller than the hole in the box top so that alignment does not have to be exact. The hole can be circular, oval, or fancy shaped as long as the top panel hole is smaller and will cover the entire hole int the box top :)

    Embellish:
Go wild! Emboss, layer, ink, stamp, whatever to your panels.

    Assembly:
Now that you have all of your pieces cut, and all of your embellishing complete, now you can assembly it!
    • First adhere all or your panels to their corresponding box pieces.
    • Adhere your box front, back, and ends together with the 1/2" flaps stuck to the inside of the piece next to it to form your box base.
    • Crease and fold down the lips of the box top, adhering flaps.
    • Apply adhesive of your choice on the backs of the lip all the way around.
    • Slide top over box base and press on the inside of the box to get good adherance of the glue.
    All Done!!

     Now, let's see yours!!

    Tea Shop Tissue Box

I drink tea like most night shift people drink coffee. Strong and continuously! Which means I go to a specialty tea shop to get loose leaf tea probably every 2 weeks. I love my tea shop lady. She is always such fun to talk to and she is always encouraging me to stretch myself with my crafting business. So I has to make this cute little tissue box for her shop :) I mean, I have Morning Cup, so how could I not make a project with it for the tea shop!!

Shimmer Paint is a must when coloring this set. I just love the depth it gives your images when applied over the coloring with a blender pen.

I did edit this phrase a little to remove the word "coffee" and add "tea" instead. And isn't the Vintage Wallpaper EF perfect for this project?!
    • Stamps: Morning Cup
    • Paper: Suede, Marina Mist, Naturals White
    • Ink: Marina Mist, Early Espresso, Regal Rose, Old Olive
    • Other: Big Shot with Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder, 1 3/8" Square punch (to create the banner ends), 2 3/8" Scallop Circle punch, Designer Label punch, Curly Label punch, 1¾" Circle punch,  Pearls Basic Jewels, Circle Scissors, oval cutting system, Bone Folder, Paper Piercer, Stampin' Dimensionals, Blender Pen, Frost White Shimmer Paint

And one last view. You can find the tutorial by Diane Zechman to make these on Splitcoaststampers.

    Textiles Baby Boy Card

This was a really fun card to put together. I love all the texture! I had been neglecting my texture plates lately and was reminded how wonderful they are when I signed up to feature the Reverse Faux Letterpress technique for the Stampin' Addicts Birthday Blog hop. Then I couldn't stop using them!!

I was going for the baby quilt feel, which is one of my favorites for baby cards. You can never have enough blankets for baby :) There is some DSP from the Hostess Pack in here too! I stamped the elephants on it and texturized it too. Very versatile stuff!

Inside is decorated too with strips of the paper from the front and a paper button cut out with Buttons #5 sizzlet and Reverse Faux Letterpress technique to add texture and ink to it with the woodgrain texture plate.
    • Stamps: Animal Stories, Occasional Quotes, Sweetness Unlimited
    • Paper: Naturals White, Soft Suede, Peach Parfait, Marina Mist, Pear Pizzazz DSP
    • Ink: Soft Suede, Peach Parfait, Marina Mist, Pear Pizzazz
    • Other: Big Shot with Buttons #5 sizzlet, Backgrounds 1 and Texture Plates Kit #4 , Scallop Oval punch, Large Oval punch, Modern Label punch, Signo white gel pen

And I am using this little single stamp a TON! You just might have to have it too!
