Paper Craft. Crew Sketch Challenge #381

Are you ready for a sketch Challenge? Well, Paper Craft Crew has you covered!

Every Wednesday there is a new challenge for you to be inspired with, and you can join the fun by adding your project to the challenge! This is PCC381, a card sketch.

I am getting back into the video creation game, now that I worked out some bugs on uploading!

This Beachscapes stamp and die set recently arrived, and I have been excited to use it. This sketch fit the bill!

Color layering with Hero Hues Reactive inks in Pool Party and Splash, then a layer of Versamark with Sparkling Sea or Blue Pearl heat embossing.

Lots of layering backed with coaster blanks, and  some additional waves tucked behind the oval.

There is even some Sand heat embossing on this oval main image.

Spatters of the Pool Party and Splash ink, sequins and gems, and some birds stamped in the sky help complete this sketch.

These sentiment strips did not work out for the front of the card, but  they work perfect for the inside.

Well, I sure hope I get some beach time soon. That is one of the wonderful parts of summer!

For the Love of Summer: Chill Zone

Hey Festival Friends!! This past Christmas, I decided to invite some crafty friends to join me in a Festival of Christmas with a themed limited run series of social media hops. It was so fun that we decided to do more limited run series!

And it is time for another one: For the Love of Summer. There are four episodes in this series, and this one focuses on our Chill Zones. 

To those places where we find our zen- the beach, ocean, lake, cabin. Stargazing, beer drinking, napping in a hammock. Toes in the water, ass in the sand- style!
Sounds like heaven to me :)

The ocean is definitely a favorite chill zone for me. We have gone on many cruises, and love the Caribbean. Someday, when all this Covid stuff is over, we hope to do it some more!

This card has three kinds of embossing powder, all from Hero Arts. The waves use Blue Pearl embossing powder, which came in a My Monthly Hero kit. I am lobbying for it to return as a permanent product! I need more of it!

Next is White Satin Pearl on the shore line, and then White Puff on the clouds.

The scene stamps are from Papertrey Ink Text & Texture: Ocean stamp set.

Look at those puffy clouds over the Tumbled Glass ink blending!

There is a pop-up surprise inside. I love a card that just keeps on giving! This is a 5x7 card, which I am completely in love with. Bigger is better, right?!

I can't stop looking at the blue pearl embossing powder! It is not a detail powder, so the embossing is thick and luscious.

I do live in lake country, and there are 7 lakes within a 5 minute drive of my house. And there are dozens more within an hour of my house. While this scene is not outside my actual back door, it is available very close. Nothing beats a day at the lake shore.

The white puff embossing powder adds a nice touch to the mountain caps here.

And the blue pearl adds a sheen I was not quite able to capture on camera.

Now, don't you want to do jump in a lake right now?!

Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge #380

Exciting news, I have been invited to join the design team for the Paper Craft Crew challenges! How awesome is that?! I am excited to play with the Crew.

Every Wednesday there is a new challenge for you to be inspired with, and you can join the fun by adding your project to the challenge! This is PCC380, a card sketch.

I "stretched" this sketch a bit and made a Slim Line card. They are so very trendy right now! I do quite love them.

Let's start with the background. It is the Brutus Monroe Slim Line Dome stencil. I ink blended Distress Oxides in Squeezed Lemonade, Wild Honey, and Spiced Marmalade. Such a warm and sunny combo. Then the spritzing and spattering. Love me some spritz and spatter! Perfect Pearls in water and Hero Arts Glimmer Ink does the trick.

The background is then cut out with a stitched rectangle from Trinity Stamps Slimline Scallops and Banners dies.

These eagerly peeking kitties are from the My Favorite Things Picture Perfect set. I quickly colored them with Copic makers, and they are set inside a small frame created with the Hero Arts Wood Frame. Infinty dies.

These sentiments are from Concord and 9th Filled In Florals, and are heat embossed with the gorgeous Brutus Monroe Night Shift embossing powder in Gold. It shifts from black to gold when you tilt it in the light.

I added some Trinity Stamps Glass Beach gems for a little pizzazz.

Inside the card, I did a little more stenciling, and added sentiments from two Ink Road Stamp sets: Quarantina Wine Mixer and Hang in There.

For the Love of Summer: Bring on the Color!

Hey Festival Friends!! This past Christmas, I decided to invite some crafty friends to join me in a Festival of Christmas with a themed limited run series of social media hops. It was so fun that we decided to do more limited run series!

And it is time for another one: For the Love of Summer. There are five episodes in this series, and this one focuses on the colors of summer. Lush and rich. Dewy even!

Summer is a time of blessed warmth, water, yummy fruit, and gardens. Let's see where this inspires us to go!

I went a little bananas, or shall we say pineapples, with this challenge! One day, I felt like making some pineapple themed cards. So I gathered all of my pineapple related stamps, and got to work. 

This floral pineapple is from Concord and 9th Pineapple Perfection, and I adore it! I really love fresh pineapples, too. And there are coordinating solid image stamps so you can quickly color in the whole pineapple. But you also have the option to color them with your favorite coloring medium. For this card, I used the stamps with Distress Oxide inks.

This sentiment is from Picket Fence Studios. I had been looking for a good stamp with a phrase something like this for a while, and when I found this one, I had to have it.

That background is one of many that I created with a Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxide ink pad that my grandson reinked with Spiced Marmalade. I actually love the way that this ink pad creates smooshed backgrounds without any special effort. Just smoosh the inkpad onto my craft mat, spritz with a little water, and start smooshing paper into it. Dry between layers, and you get this awesome effect.

I added a pop up element using the Pivot Pop Up dies from Lawn Fawn, more pineapples from Concord and 9th Pop Art Pineapple, and a sentiment from the Ink Road Stamps: This Stamp is Bananas.

This card has a smoothly blended background and a similar pineapple.

This one uses an embossing folder from Scrapbook.com that is 6x8, perfect for making 5x7 cards.

I love how the diamond pattern on this embossing folder looks like the outside of a pineapple.

So, I hope this lush floral in the shape of a pineapple has inspired you to go play with your stash!

Creating Kindness: Texture

The Creating Kindness hop is here again, and the Guest Designer this month is Melinda Stearns.
Welcome, Melinda ! I can't wait to see what you create 😁

The theme this month is Texture, I love texture. And there are so many marvelous ways to achieve it! How shall I narrow it down?!

There are several methods of texture here. Inky texture, Glitter paste/gel, cardstock layers, faux stitching, and heat embossing!

I used a bunch of retired/limited edition Kindred Stamps stuff. The adorable Park Cuties stamp set for the castle and greetings. And the Bananas box, which was actually released in the beginning of May and sold out the first week, contributes the amazing amusement park edge die. I think that was my favorite part of that box.

This sky is Salty Ocean Distress Oxide inked onto a white panel and spritzed with Pearlized water (Perfect Pearls added to water in a spray bottle).

I took the Dandelions 6x8 stencil from Scrapbook.com and masked off the stems, and used Gina K Glitz Glitter Gel in White and Turquoise Sea, and Brutus Monroe Glitter Glaze of the Month in Perfect Plum and Frosted Window Pane.

The castle was colored with Copics, Clear Wink of Stella, Sakura White Gel pen, and Jane Davenport Golden Age pen.

This turned out better than I had hoped! It will be perfect for the theme park enthusiast's birthday at work!

Crafty Christmas Club: May

I want you all to know just how much I love you all. I made this card an hour before this post went live. After working my 5th 12 hour shift. And I have to work in the morning. But I wouldn't want to miss a Christmas hop!

I  pulled this adorable little reindeer from my stash of stamped and colored images. When I first got my Copics, I was coloring all kinds of images to practice. And to use later. He came in handy! As did  the heart he is holding,

Then I grabbed the Christmas Cottage stamps and dies from Concord and 9th, stamped and die cut the layers of this 3D card.
And added some White Puff embossing powder from Hero Arts MMH to the trees and snow drifts.

And there is my 20 minute quickie Christmas card!! I hope you like it.

Spring Celebrations: Father's Day

Hey Festival Friends!! This past Christmas, I decided to invite some crafty friends to join me in a Festival of Christmas with a themed limited run series of social media hops. It was so fun that we decided to do more limited run series!

And it is time for another one: Spring Celebrations. There are five episodes in this series, and this one focuses on Father's Day!

Oh, I can just see the Dad jokes coming on!! Let's bring some smiles to the Big Guys in our lives. All male role models need this, and so do we!

 I have been really enjoying shopping my stash. And since I am not a minimalist, and have been building my stash since 2006, my "store" has a pretty big variety!

Today, I am using a mash up of Picket Fence Studio, Lawn Fawn, and Hero Arts.

This is a Reveal Wheel card, it couldn't tell. The sentiments are:

• My Hero
• So Loved

The little fish are heat embossed with Hero Arts Sparkling Sea. I love how this  embossing  powder  works in solid images!
