Old Blue Truck

We all need masculine cards, and I really like making them! Maybe because we ladies are far outnumbered in my family. I have seen so many wonderful cards with this truck, I had to get the Countryside set.LOVE it! I have only used the truck so far, but I have made a few things with it.

And of course I am still using the heck out of the Tasteful Trims die. The rick rack is perfect for guy cards. I think I am getting better at water coloring too. Aren't proud of me?! I stepped out of my comfort zone and am growing my skills :-) I really like how the Curly Label punch resembles a road sign! And that I was able to outline it with a gel pen without it looking to horrible.
The "hello" from the Hello Again set fit the feel of this card perfectly. I used the Top Note die to cut out the Basic Gray piece above the truck.
I made this card for Richie, my "adopted" son who is in boot camp for Navy Reserves right now. Richie moved in with us for the last half of his senior year of high school. Before that he was at our house more often than not. This card will go out in the mail today to Richie.

Here is the inside. I used Basic Gray ink stamped off once to add the truck to the inside. I didn't want to get too fancy so I would have room to write!

  • Stamps: Countryside, Hello Again
  • Paper: Pacific Point, Basic Gray, Cherry Cobbler, Pear Pizzazz, Watercolor, Very Vanilla
  • Ink: Jet Black Stazon, Pacific Point, Basic Gray, Cherry Cobbler, Pear Pizzazz, Crumb Cake
  • Other: Big Shot with Tasteful Trim and Top Note dies, Curly Label punch, Large Oval punch, Small Oval Punch, Aqua-painter, Signo white gel pen, sponges, Stampin' Dimensionals

Here is a straight on shot of the card front. I brought it to work with a few other things and got an order for 2 of this card alone! Now I need to design and make 8 cards with this set for a swap due on 11/15! I better get cracking...

Your water coloring is great! I keep forgetting I have that die....you've inspired me to get it out and use it.
