December Birthdays Blog Hop

Hello everybody! I hope your are enjoying your holiday festivities, as December is certainly a month full of them. But let's not forget all the people who have birthdays in December! They kind of get the short end of the stick... frequently their birthdays are completely forgotten in the holiday rush. And if they are remembered, they might get a Christmas gift that is a "birthday" gift too.

Well, my friend Natalie Lapakko decided to honor those December birthdays by hosting a blog hop, and asked me to play!

I have been trying to improve my skills with the Blends, so I challenged myself to using them on a few projects.

Birthday Blooms is one of my favorite stamp sets. That gorgeous bouquet of luscious flowers is so fun to color with any medium.

This does have a December flavor to it, with the reds and the greens, but it certainly plays well with any time of year.

I used the Layered Leaves embossing folder on the background for a subtle addition of texture. And those Black Mini Sequins pack quite a glamorous punch! Clear Wink of Stella was applied to all of the blooms too.

The bloom for the inside was colored, then cut out and adhered to the inside of the card. This gets around the whole markers bleeding through the paper issue.
