February Club Projects

This is the scrapbook page we made. I wanted to do something with one of the sets that I got for free with the Sale-A-Bration promotion that is on until March 31st. I have been wanting to get this set, I just kept putting it off. Aren't those little partridges just adorable! And yes, shame on me, I used retired DSP again. I just have to use it up. I am not allowing myself to buy anymore until I use up what I have. And I REALLY want the new Sweet Pea DSP pad...it is GORGEOUS! Ok, on to the details!
  • Stamps: Happy Together
  • Paper:  Garden Green, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, and Delicate Dots DSP (last year's SAB)
  • Ink: Chocolate Chip, Versamark, Certainly Celery, Ballet Blue, So Saffron, Garden Green
  • Other: Embossing Buddy, Clear embossing buddy, heat gun, Scallop Edge punch, Stampin Dimensionals, Stamp-Ma-Jig (SAMJ)
  1. Cut four 5-3/4" squares of DSP and adhere to the Garden Green 12x12 card stock. Use Chocolate Chip marker to make faux stitching around each block of DSP.
  2. Cut out a 1-1/4" x 4-1/2" piece of Whisper White, a 1-7/16" x 4-11/16" piece of Garden Green, and a 2-1/2" x 4-7/8" piece of Chocolate Chip.
  3. Use the Scallop Edge punch on one of the long sides of the Chocolate Chip piece.
  4. Ink up the large partridge with Versamark, then Chocolate Chip, then use SAMJ to stamp on the Whisper White piece. Clean stamp before doing second image with this stamp. Repeat with the little partridges stamp, and then the big partridge stamp, being careful not to touch each image after stamping so as not to smear the Versamark.
  5. Pour Clear embossing powder over the stamped images, tap off excess, and heat with heat gun.
  6. After the embossing has cooled, color the images with Certainly Celery, Ballet Blue, and So Saffron markers. Then stamp "happy together" in Garden Green using the SAMJ.
  7. Ink edges of layers with Chocolate Chip. Adhere layers together. Stick Stampin Dimensionals to the back, then center and adhere to the page.

Here is a close up of the partridges. I left space on the scalloped piece for a little journaling, I think white gel pen would look great there!

I couldn't resist doing another Valentine's card, although I left the spot for the sentiment blank so it could be used for any occasion (on the DSP strip next to the biggest heart) And I love all the texture! My inspiration for this card is from Andrea Walford's card. This is also featuring the set that Stampin Up is using as a fund raiser for the Haiti Disaster Fund. From January 21 until February 28, 2010, $2 from every I {Heart} Hearts stamp set sold will be donated to the American Red Cross’ Haiti Relief and Development Fund.

Here is my tribute to St. Patrick's Day, isn't it sooo green! And we used some more heart punches. This cards is totally about the texture too. I was inspired by Marie Shaughnessy's card here. I did have to use a scallop oval die that SU does not sell, I hope you will forgive me. OK, here goes!
