Bees For Father's Day

Time to be moving on to our next group of card giving events! Father's Day, Weddings, and Graduations! Boy howdy, it's time to get a move on! 
I had gotten 3 of the $15 grab bags from Stampin' Up! recently and part of what came in them was a large stack of Mellow Moss cardbases. Mellow MOss used to be one of my favorite colors, and I am sure that I was not alone :) It goes VERY well with Soft Suede, and look how great they both work with Nature Walk....now gone, but I still love it!
The bee stamping on the Mellow Moss is done with Always Artichoke stamped off once so it wouldn't be overwhelming.

Inside the card, I stamped the plant image and a non-SU sentiment that I think goes very well with this set. It would be super easy to print this sentiment from your computer to add to your card.

Pacific Surf!!

I participated in a swap with the new Summer Mini stamp sets, and this is one of my swap. I really love how it turned out :) This is a super fun stamp set called Summer Splash all about the ocean/beach. The surfboards are all the same block of stamps, but I got the clearmount version and cut mine apart so I could more easily make them different colors. This is one of those cards that just came together so fast and easily, I just love it!

 Here is a side view. You can kind of see that I popped the main image up a little, which is helpful when you have lumpy ribbon tucked under the edge :)

Until next time, I wish I could say "Surf's Up!" but I live in Minnesota. Not too much surfing going on here, lol! Although funny story, my hubby was watching the X Games on TV a few years ago and they had a drawing through our local cable network, and he won!! And the prize was a SURFBOARD with X Games logo on it.... how darn funny is that since we are as far from the ocean as you can get on this continent, being right smack in the middle of it as we are!! You know, I think that silly thing is up in my closet in the box it came in. He had to go pick it up even, they weren't going to pay to have it shipped ;) Ok, now that I remembered this little story, I think I should find that thing, take some pictures, and make a scrapbook page. What do you all think?
 

SASCRAP37 Sketch Pine Grove Park

This is my completed page. As you can see, I used my page from the recent Summer Mini Blog Hop and finally am posting the finished page. I wanted to use some different photos, but this was what I had handy. There are just a few more I wanted to include, so I guess this means I need to make a companion page!

A Box of Flowers For Mother's Day

I have been saving this project for a special occasion, and I think that Mother's Day qualifies! I was totally inspired to create this project after seeing a box of purple flowers as part of a table centerpiece. LOVED it and had just gotten the Fun Flowers die :)

I used the Fancy Favor box die cut out in Naturals White and stamped Crumb Cake with the Woodgrain BG stamp. I also sponged all of the edges with Crumb Cake. Then I took a piece of the plasticy foam stuff that came in the packaging for one of the SU scrapbooks I bought and trimmed it down to fit in the bottom of the box. This way I had something to poke the bamboo skewers the flowers were mounted on into and they would stay in place. Think floral foam :)

The flowers themselves are lots of layers of Fun Flowers diecuts in Rich Razzleberry sponged with Rich Razzleberry and curled with a Bone Folder, then adhered to each other with Stampin' Dimensionals. Rhinestones add an awesome touch to the centers, but I think buttons and rhinestones and Antique Brads would all look amazing too! I poked a hole in the base of each assembled flower carefully with a paper piercer, then stuck a Sticky Strip covered bamboo skewer flat end first into the hole. Some of the skewers were placed straight in, some at an angle to create the bouquet.

See the angled ones? The leaves were diecut also with the Leaves #2 die out of Old Olive and curled. Then I adhered them to the inside of the box with Sticky Strip.

I thinks this whole project took me about 90 minutes to complete, from inspiration, planning, hunting for stuff, assembling, to completion. I love it when things turn out as envisioned :) I hope I inspire you to give this a try!

Peachy Mom's Day

More Mom's Day stuff! I am not sure if I like this one yet, but someone did because I don't have ANY Mother's Day cards left to send to my moms. They all got sold at work :)

I love how this butterfly stamp looks as a background and the style goes so well with the crochet trim. I also used my square punches for their intended purpose for once, lol!

 I combined the butterfly and the word block along the bottom. I really like the words used in this word block. I know they were chosen to represent cancer survivors, but they really work for moms too. And the sentiments alone in the Messages for Mom make this set a winner! Each line is an individual stamp so you can combine them anyway you want.

Paisley Mother's Day

Another Mother's Day card as promised. This is a dressed up version of the card we made for March Club. Now I am wishing I had bought more of this fabulous paper before the sneak peek special ended....

I added some crochet trim, another layer of cardstock, and the dragonfly brads (which I have had in my stash for YEARS). I brought this one to work yesterday and got several requests for it :)

Bold Blossoms Mother's Day

Time to get things in high gear for Mother's Day! It's this weekend if you had forgotten :) I will be mailing out my cards Friday morning so they will arrive on Saturday. There will be a different Mother's Day card posted each day for the next three days, so be sure to come back for more.

 This card came together rather quickly. I decided I better make a pile of cards to take to work as I am sure I will get asked for some cards this week, lol! Lots of spring attitude in this card. Don't you love how fresh these colors feel together?!
