Stamp Review Crew Bonus Edition: Happy Congratulations

http://stampreviewcrew.blogspot.com/2014/03/stamp-review-crew-bonus-edition-happy.html
Welcome to the first ever bonus edition of the Stamp Review Crew! This is a set that we received requests for. You asked and we listened! This is a shorter hop than many of the others, but it will still be full of ideas for this set :)

If you are following the order of the blog roll, then you just arrived from Adriana Benitez' blog. Didn't she do a marvelous job?! If you want to see the full blog roll, or just leave us a comment or suggestion in one spot, check out the Stamp Review Crew blog. You will find all of our hops intact in the archive there also.

The paper lanterns in this set have endless possibilities to me. They look like croquet balls, or balls of yarn, or fun patterned circles. They punch out perfectly with a ¾" circle punch too!

This first one is a simple take on this stamp set with the addition of the sentiment on just one of the paper lanterns. It is from the Just Sayin word bubble stamp set. I was able to stamp the whole "woo-hoo!" image, then stamp the paper lantern over it. The word bubble part of the image does not interfere with this combo at all! All I had to do was punch it out with the ¾" circle punch. That really is a woo-hoo!

Then I just added on string of lanterns on the inside. I wanted to keep this card gender neutral. I am thinking of using it as a birthday card :)

My next idea was to make the lanterns look like balloons. And I thought they would look cute in a word bubble! We all need more masculine cards, right?!I had  to sneak some woodgrain in there too :)

And a few balloons on the inside.

My last project is on a yarn theme. It was hard to find a sentiment that fit the theme at first, but a kitten and yarn make me smile, so I thought these went together well. On the Strawberry Slush Core'dinations panel, I first sanded it a bit to distress it, then stamped the outline image (minus the strings) to give is a circle pattern.
The heart was from one of the My Paper Pumpkin kits- I don't remember which one. There are lots of heart images that would work for this though. And I can't seem to stop using the Decorative Dots embossing folder (one of the Sale-A-Bration offerings this year). The random irregular dot pattern is so easy to add to so many designs :)

There are a few more balls of yarn on the inside too.I think this is my favorite of the three. I wish there had been more time for me to stamp more of my ideas in time for this hop!

Alrighty then! Time to head over to Heidi Baks' blog where she will knock your socks off with her projects :)

Your first card is colorful but the second one really spoke to me more...and your third card is also wonderful...the idea of using balloons as the lanterns is very smart!
