For those who are new to the Stamp Review Crew, here is a little background. We are an international group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators that gets together on the first and third Mondays of every month to do a blog hop. Each hop features a single stamp set to give you loads of inspiration for that set! The hops are archived at the Stamp Review Crew blog, and you will be able to click through each hop at any time, going directly to the posts for that hop whenever you want! And you can click on the banner of this post to go to the master blog roll for this hop also.
If you are following along in order, then you just arrived from Mike Funke's blog. He always finds some unique twist with a stamp set!
I know that we have all seen lots of cards with sprays of pine branches, but this one has a little something extra. I stamped the boughs in Emerald Envy on the Crumb Cake panel, then the highlights for the boughs in Versamark, then heat embossed with the Emerald Envy Glitter embossing powder. I am telling you, that stuff is gorgeous!!
Just look at that shimmer and shine! You can see the lovely stitching details on the squares from the Stitched Shapes framelits. (They should be back in stock mid-January) Do you like the Vellum pine bough? Adds a nice details I think 😁
The inside is finished off with another bough in Emerald Envy and Mint Macaron. And the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler.
This card features a technique that is highlighted in the new Occasions mini. The pine boughs ore debossed, and then the solid pine cone image is stamped in Mint Macaron full strength and stamped off a few times all over to "reveal" the pine bough debossing. This was done on watercolor paper for a couple of reasons. The paper is heavy enough to handle to extra abuse, and I could spritz it with a little water 👍
I also embossed the pin boughs on the Crumb Cake panel, twice! Yes, it got a little flattened in the middle with the second run through the Big Shot, but the watercolor panel covered that. The sentiment is stamped in Soft Suede.
And some more finishing stamping inside! Mint Macaron, full strength and stamped off once, Crumb Cake same thing, and Soft Suede.
This is the last one! I know, I get carried away sometimes 😊I have a pile of tags that I made from scraps on my desk just waiting to be used. I was playing with pinecone color combos, and stumbled on this idea. There are three different color pinecones here, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, and Early Espresso, all heat embossed with Copper embossing powder on each color cardstock. Then they were cut out using the coordinating dies. Layered up with boughs, branches, and berries, and stamped the greeting in Early Espresso. Presto-bango, done! (I will stamp to: from: on the back later. I forgot before I took the pictures...)
All of the supplies I used are listed at the bottom of this post. I hope I have convinced you this is a must-have stamp set! And I barely scratched the surface of the ideas I have for this set! If only I had the time to get all of those ideas made before Christmas....
Hiedi Baks is the next stop on this hop, and she is sure to have a wonderful project or two for you!
