Oh, Swirly Bird, how versatile you are! And you have such nice coordinating dies, oh my! Are you ready to see a whole pile of fun ideas to use with this set? We are about to inspire you all! Who doesn't need a little January jumpstart into creativity?!
For those who are new to the Stamp Review Crew, here is a little background. We are an international group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators that gets together on the first and third Mondays of every month to do a blog hop. Each hop features a single stamp set to give you loads of inspiration for that set! The hops are archived at the Stamp Review Crew blog, and you will be able to click through each hop at any time, going directly to the posts for that hop whenever you want! And you can click on the banner of this post to go to the master blog roll for this hop also.
If you are following along in order, you arrived from the fabulous Dawn Tidd's blog! Love her stuff!!
- On a 4"x5¼" panel of watercolor paper taped down to a board, I applied clean clear water to the whole panel. Then with ink squeezed out of the inkpad onto the lid, I applied a color was of Mint Macaron and used the Heat Tool to dry it.
- Then I stamped the flowers and leaves using Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight, and Mint Macaron on the watercolor panel and inside a Mint Macaron card base.
- Use Embossing Buddy on the watercolor panel. Stamp the inner swirl in Bermuda Bay on the largest flower on the watercolor panel, then quickly add Clear embossing powder and heat set.
- Next I stamped the sentiment from the SAB set, So Very Much, in Versamark and heat embossed in Copper. And I added the second portion in Bermuda Bay under the large "thank you".
- Stitching around the watercolor panel gives it a nice finishing touch, then the panel is adhered to the card front with dimensionals. All done!
I am so glad I bought another container of the Copper embossing powder because I am going to run out of the first container very soon!
This card came together very quickly, and I may have to make a few more to send out for all of the lovely gifts, and visits, we had this holiday season!
I kept the dimension down to one layer here, and carried the branch to the inside also. Do you recognize the sentiment set? It is Here for You. It is a must-have for all kinds of sympathy/encouragement cards with slightly salty phrases. And I think a lot of us are at least slightly salty 😜
The little swervie stamp can be used for the kite string, or to build a branch.
A little close up for detail. The droppings are stamped in Versamark, then White heat embossed. The sentiment is stamped in Early Espresso and Clear heat embossed. The Brickwall embossing folder came in handy here. And the bottom edge of the white panel? That is made with the swirly wavy lines!
That is all I have for you today, but I think I will have to go back and create the card I inttended to create before Dirty Bird popped in 😏
All of the supplies I used for these projects are listed at the bottom of this post, if you are interested.
And now it is time to check out the talented Bruno Bertucci's blog, he is sure to WOW you!

Cute, fun card today. Thanks for sharing.
I love the soft swirly flowers as a backdrop with that beautiful embossed sentiment! Pretty card!
Oh wow! You have inspired me - two things I need to do 1) Crack open my Copper Embossing Powder and not be so lazy when it comes to heat embossing. 2) Stitch on my cards more often. I love your card, Tanya and here's an official CONGRATULATIONS on getting on the Artisan Design Team. Wooo hooo! Thanks for the shout out for Colour INKspiration. I was surprised those colours would actually work but they do. The second card made me smile.
I have struggled with this set. Love your card...thanks for inspiring me!
I have struggled with this set. Love your card...thanks for inspiring me!
Love both your cards but the bird poop really made me laugh! Great work on some diverse ideas with this set! Kelly x
I am back for a look at number two! And am I glad I returned......this card just made me laugh! Totally fun!
Ha, that dirty bird is quite funny! I love the layout you used. And the combo of watercoloring and stitching in your first card is very striking!
Too funny! Love the dirty bird card. Good thinkin'. Also love your first card, nice and srpingy.
Awesome cards. The THANK YOU card is gorgeous and the perfect card to start out the new year.
I would never have thought of that bird poop but it is super cute and perfect for some occasions. Great great great job!!! You deserve a medal!!!! So CREATIVE
Dirty bird! 🤓😂 Genius!
i love these projects Tanya!
Two super fun cards! I love that big 'ole Thank You embossed in copper and your pretty bouquet on the first one. The second one is just too cute and make me giggle!
Lol!...I just spat my coffee..:0) That is the best use of this set, teamed with that sentiment it's perfect! xx
I cannot get to Mike Funcke's site to see the next person on the hop. Everytime I try to go there I get a message, Threat has been detected. Who is after him on the blog hop? I would really like to see these cards. I love that set but have not used it very much. This bird card is my favorite!
Pretty sure I've never seen instructions on how to simulate bird poop with stamping supplies! That is very fun and could be appropriate for lots of occasions! But your first card simply makes my heart sing!
Lovely colour combination, tfs...Dixx
Tanya, the gold embossed 'Thank You' is the perfect touch to that card. Is the Artisan title new? I didn't notice it until today. Congrats!
