Spellbinders is celebrating their 20th birthday this month! Let's celebrate that amazing landmark with them. The release this month features a TON of fun birthday stuff, and a lot of other cool stuff. But we are going to focus on the Birthday Celebration Collection today.
I used the same 4 products on both of these cards, 3 of which are from the Birthday Celebrations Collection.
- Party Spots embossing folder
- Color Block Balloons dies
- Birthday Unboxing glimmer hot foil plates
- On Cloud Nine dies
If you want to see how I made these cards, including how I made the pop up inside the larger card, watch this video!
I love the variety of circle sizes and the slightly wonky shapes of the circles in the embossing folder. And my absolute favorite thing about Spellbinders embossing folders is that they will emboss a 5.5"x8.5" piece of cardstock. That makes it work for even my biggest cards! And this is a 5x7 card.
Sometimes I struggle with foilign on colored cardstock, but when I use Spellbinders colored cardstock, it is no longer a struggle. Thankfully, I have quite a pile of it that I have collected from my Card Kits. There are 2 dies in this foil plate set, and I used them both!
And inside this card we have a flight of balloons that pop up! I used a really simple technique to make anything a pop up from Jennifer Mcguire. I show you haw to do it in my video!
You can see the pop up very well in real life, but in photos this angle shows it a little better. And you can see that I adheres a couple of balloons and clouds directly to the card base to increase the feeling of dimension.
For this mini slimline card, I wanted to use the other "Happy Birthday" from the glimmer hot foiling set, the leftover balloon, and use the embossing folder in a different way.
The background is ink blended and then embossed, and I added some mirror card balloons. I used the strings this time, too! The gems are the same ones I used on the previous card.
I hope you got some inspiration from these projects! I sure enjoyed playing with these products and making these cards. Leave me a comment below and tell me what you are most excited about!
Spellbinders will have a link up party for all of the design team projects on July 17th on their blog, find that here:
