My Swaps for Regionals

I had the opportunity to go to Stampin Up! Minneapolis Regionals this past weekend, and it was a blast! I met a lot of other crazy women like myself, swapped project, talked, and learned a few new techniques. All well worth it! I thought I would share what I brought to swap with the ladies.

This is a gift card/wallet size photo/business card holder. It turned out really cute and really inspired by the need to have something to put my daughter's Senior photos in one morning before she went to school. It will hold around 20 photos.
  • Stamps: Great Friends
  • Paper: Pink Passion, Choc Chip, Whisper White
  • Ink: Pink Passion, Choc Chip
  • Other: Scallop Border punch, White Gel pen, Scallop Circle punch, scissors, dimensionals, scoring blade and paper trimmer, sticky strip
  1. Start with a 7-1/2x4-1/2" piece of pink cs. Score ate 1/4" and 1/2" on each long edge. Then score at 2", 2-1/4", 4-7/8", and 5-1/8" starting on one short edge.
  2. Trim off the scored 1/4" and 1/2" parts from the 2" score line down.
  3. Stamp your images on one side of the paper, on the outside.
  4. Fold on the score lines, adhere sticky strip to the flap and adhere to form a pocket.
  5. Take a 3-1/2" long strip of Choc Chip and scallop the edge. Trim to 1/2" wide. Adhere to bottom edge of front flap. Use gel pen to decorate as shown.
  6. Punch out a Choc Chip Scallop Circle.
  7. Stamp frame in Choc Chip on WW. Ink phrase in PP, then use CC marker to color the word Friend. Use Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to line image up in middle of the frame, huff on stamp and stamp image. Cut out the frame. Adhere to the Scallop Circle. Use a dimensional to adhere to front of the box. All Done!

This is the 6x6" scrapbook page I did. It was a fun one to do! I happened to have a ton of extra More Mustard paper and wanted to use some of it up, and this just looked so toasty tanned :)
  • Stamps: Life's a Beach, Somethin' Fishy JW
  • Paper: More Mustard, Ruby Red, Brilliant Blue
  • Ink: Same as above
  • Other: Harlequin Texture plate, Lots of Tags die #3, Big Shot, Large Oval, Scallop Circle, Photo Corners, 1-3/8" circle, and 1-1/4" circle punches, Paper piercer, brads, dimensionals, sponges

I won't explain it all, I think you can probably figure it out. But if you do have questions, just post a comment :)

And this is the Card Font that I made, with the help of Irene, Krystle, Kaylee, Cassie, and Geoffrey at my Mother-In-Law's house one weekend in March? I think. They were a great help!

  • Stamps: Heard from the Heart, Bella's Border wheel
  • Paper: Barely Banana, Certainly Celery, Whisper White
  • Ink: Close to Cocoa, Choc Chip, Barely Banana
  • Other: sponges, Eyelet Border punch, Beautiful Butterflies die and Big Shot, tape runner, Choc Chip 5/8" grosgrain ribbon, Certainly Celery 5/8" poly twill ribbon, lighter, glue dots or sticky strip to adhere just the center of the butterfly to the card.

I used the same method to make the butterflies as explained here. The rest is pretty simple.

I hope you like them!

Swaps from our last meeting

This is the swap that Deb brought. Isn't it just so springy! I love it! You could tuck all kinds of treats in here. And she used all three stamps from the Yummy set on it! Great job Deb!

This is the front of Elli's card and I can't remember the name of the set, but I think it is retired. Just adorable! And Elli had a purse party on Sunday, so it was totally appropriate, lol!
She even did the inside of the card and colored all the purses.
Love all the details ladies, you both made lovely cards! I hope this inspires the rest of you to participate in the card swaps each month. Three people will be able to swap for these cards next month as there are some left.
Give these ladies some love and leave a comment, pretty please :)

I got a RAK!

I got a very lovely surprise in my mailbox today. This card from Kathy Nadon! For those of you who have never heard the term RAK, it means Random Act of Kindness and this certainly was. Kathy, I have thought of you often and smiled also! Thank you for this great card!

Little Chick

Remember our little lamb from Club? Well I made a friend for him.

I changed someone else's idea a little to fit the punches I have, and came up with this little chick. Isn't he cute?!

Here is a close-up of the little fella. I'll do a quick tutorial here also.
  • Paper: So Saffron, Only Orange, Whisper White
  • Ink: white gel pen, Basic Black marker, So Saffron
  • Tools: Scallop Circle punch, Boho Blossoms punch, standard hole punch, sponge
  1. Punch out 3 scallop circles in So Saffron. From one of the scallops, cut 2 3 scallop wedges for the wings. Sponge all edges with So Saffron ink. Adhere wings to 1 scallop circle as shown above.
  2. Punch out two 6 petal flowers with the Boho Blossoms punch. Cut it in half to make the little feet. Adhere to winged scallop circle as shown. Cut 1 petal off of the other flower. Adhere as shown above for a beak.
  3. Punch out 2 white standard hole punches. Adhere to chick as shown. Use black marker to make pupils, and use white gel pen to add highlights to eyes as shown.
  4. Adhere scallop circles to front and back of peppermint patty.

All done!

March Project #3

I just could not resist this last project. I found it on more than one website with more than one person making it. I don't know who came up with it first, but it sure is cute! And just in time for Easter, too :)

  • Ink: white gel pen
  • tools: Scallop circle punch, 5 Petal punch
  • Other: Peppermint Patties
  1. Punch 2 white scallop circles.
  2. Punch one 3 petal section and two 2 petal sections in black with 5 petal punch.
  3. Adhere 3 petal section to 1 of the scalloped circle to make the face and ears of the lamb.
  4. Adhere the 2 petal sections to the bottoms of the scallop circles to make the feet.
  5. Draw eyes on the face with white gel pen.
  6. Adhere to peppermint patty using tape runner.

All done! Now isn't he cute?! And doesn't he need some friends? Make a few more to share with everyone!

March Project #2

This is the scrapbook page we did. Can you tell I was in the mood for spring? I also went a little crazy with the embellishments, but hey, it's a fun page.
  • Stamps: Botanical Blooms (Sale-a-bration set), Dotted Lines JW
  • Paper: Almost Amethyst, Certainly Celery, Close to Cocoa, Delicate Dots DSP (Sale-a-bration)
  • Ink: Almost Amethyst, Certainly Celery
  • Accessories: Filigree designer brads, Square Rhinestone brads, silver eyelets, Hidden Garden rub-on, So Saffron & Certainly Celery 5/8" ribbon (Sale-a-bration), Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, and Elegant Eggplant 1/4" ribbon.
  • Tools: Big Shot, Beautiful Butterflies die, Top Note die, Wheel guide, Crop-A-Dile, Paper piercer
  1. Stamp flower repeatedly over Almost Amethyst page in same ink. Sponge edges of page with Almost Amethyst ink.
  2. Adhere Close to Cocoa strip to a piece of Certainly Celery paper, run thru BS with Top Note die. Apply rub-on to bottom portion of Top Note die cut. Sponge edges with Almost Amethyst ink. Use Dotted Lines JW to create journaling lines in Certainly Celery ink on the Top note using the Wheel guide to keep it straight.
  3. Adhere ribbon to 2"x2.5" piece of cs with SNAIL adhesive (tape runner), covering entire piece. Run thru BS on the smallest butterfly on the Beautiful Butterflies die. Singe edges of ribbon butterfly with a lighter to prevent fraying. Use Crop-A-Dile to apply silver eyelet in the center of the butterfly.
  4. Cut a 4"x12" piece of Delicate Dots DSP. Adhere a strip of So Saffron ribbon down the center lengthwise. Adhere to center of the Almost Amethyst page.
  5. Use glue dots to adhere butterfly to bottom of DSP strip.
  6. Adhere Top Note journaling block to the top portion of DSP strip.
  7. Use Paper piercer to poke hole for Rhinestone brad to make head for butterfly and apply brad.
  8. Use paper piercer again to apply Filigree designer brad centered between the Top Note and the Butterfly.
  9. Use Billboard Alpha die and the BS to make the title for the page with Almost Amethyst paper.
  10. Place pictures on each side of DSP strip, and add your journaling.

All done!

  5. Rub embossing buddy over the Vellum. Stamp floral branch a couple of times in Versamark. Sprinkle with white ep and shake off excees. Heat with heat gun until EP melts. Allow to cool for a few seconds. Place face down on smallest butterfly on Beautifull butterflies die and run through the Big Shot. Fold butterfly in half. Apply a glue dot on fold.
  6. Apply to matted rectangle. Use Paper piercer to poke a hole for the silver brad that will make the butterfly's head. Apply brad.
