This time I created some 5"x7" cards that will hold a 4"x6" family photo perfectly on the front of the card. This way you can send that family photo, and still make a lovely card :)
There is a lot of heat embossing going on on these cards, and I tried a few color combos. This picture shows the difference between Cherry Cobbler with Sahara Sand cardstock/Pewter embossing powder and Crumb Cake cardstock/Gold embossing powder. Both lovely, but will coordinate with photos differently.
Here is the Sahara Sand/Pewter by itself. You could use silver here too. Pewter is a retired Stampin' Up! embossing powder color, but there are a few other brands that make something similar. I just bought extra before it retired because I love it so much! And I bought some Ranger Liquid Platinum just in case I ran out of the Pewter :) This would go well with gray and cool toned photos.
This is the Crumb Cake/Gold combo, and it would go well with browns and warm toned photos. Also a favorite combination of mine!
And oh my gosh!! I cannot stop using the new Copper embossing powder. I just love it! I used vellum as the layers for all of the embossing on this card, and stitched the large panel to the card base.
Now, these cards also need envelopes, and the envelope punch board is just the ticket for this. I haven't created the envelopes yet, but I plan to use some of the my hoarded stash of lesser quality DSP that is printed on only one side. This way I have a nice white surface to put the address on, and a little fun on the inside :)
