Creating Kindness: Art Inspiration

It's time for another Creating Kindness Blog Hop! Are you excited to see what we make this time?

Every month, we have a guest designer on our hop. This month,  I am happy to welcome Kayla McCreadie! Make sure you visit her. blog and leave her some love!

The theme  for this hop is Art Inspiration- we were to take our cue from some piece of art that we admire.
Keep in mind that interpretation of inspiration takes many forms!

And I am on that video making train again, so here you go! Check out this video with my entire cardmaking process. You will either learn something, or have a great sleep aid- you decide!

I was inspired by Van Gogh's Starry Night painting, and happen to have both the Hero Arts Starry Nights background stamp and stencil! I love the versatility of that abstract pattern. The background was first ink blended with Wilted Violet, Salty Ocean, and Picked Raspberry Distress Oxides, then spritzed with Pearlized water.

I used a bunch of Trinity Stamps Slimline dies- they are all listed below. Even the cloud layers are Slimline dies!

Hero Arts Dragons and Unicorns stamps and dies are used for the images and sentiments.

Copics used:
  • Light Pink: RV00, RV02
  • Pink: RV63, RV04
  • Purple: V04, V05
  • Blue: B04, B16
  • Grays: N4, T0, T1, Colorless Blender

I added details to the images with Sakura Gelly Roll pens and Clear Wink of Stella, and that is White Satin Pearl heat embossing on the panel. And how did I make a 6x6 background stamp work on an 8.5" long panel? With my MISTI, of course! Check out the video to see exactly how it was done.

This is the light pink unicorn. Isn't it dreamy?!

Yes, yes I did stencil inside the card. There is a Starry Night stencil too! I told you I love that background!

I even found some cute patterned paper to make into a coordinating envelope using the Trinity Stamps Slimline Envelope Builder dies!

The rest of the blog roll is at the end of this post, so don't forget to check it out.

If you are interested in the supplies I used, I have provided links below.

Some of the supplies listed below are affiliate links, some are not. If you use an affiliate link here to make a purchase, I may get a small compensation. I only use things that I love, and do not create paid posts.
