Fuzzy Alien!

This is the card we made at club this month. Isn't he cute?! I just love this set. And I just found a new technique :) I had to do it for club this month. It is called Faux Flocking and thank you Andrea Walford for the idea! Our little green fella has a fuzzy belly. Think how cute this would be on a card for a little kid that likes to feel everything, and the image could be anything! And how about on the Build-A-Bear stamps that are coming out on September 1st! Anyways! I need to type fast, I have to leave for work in 2 minutes!
  • Stamps: Greetings Earthlings, Circle Circus
  • Paper: Apricot Appeal, Certainly Celery, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White
  • Ink: Apricot Appeal, Basic Black, Certainly Celery
  • Other: Blender pens and Stampin Pastels chalk, glue dots, dimensionals, circle cutter, Big Shot with Small Polka Dots texture plate, Cyrstal Effects or 2-way glue pen, paper snips

And this is the technique page for the technique book. Faux Flocking is really easy.
You just take a piece of cardstock and use the blade of your paper snips to rub against one edge over and over, kind of like you were distressing the edge. Only you keep going until you have a nice little pile of cardstock fluff or dust. Then you just use a 2-way glue pen or Crystal Effects (I like the 2-way glue pen better) to glue it where you want. It works best if you make your flocking right over the area you want to flock so you don't smoosh it too much. Now how easy is that! And you don't have to go buy anything new!
