Kaylee's Page

This cutie-patootie is my niece Kaylee! She was giving me a giant cheesy grin at a family reunion in the beginning of July this year. I ended up making this page after I started playing with coloring some Paper Daisies. The pink flower was dipped into Melon Mambo reinker mixed with water. The purple flower was sponge daubered with Rich Razzleberry ink, and the yellow flower was also colored with a sponge dauber.  I foresee the need to order more sponge daubers!!  I added glitter and rhinestones for added bling. Every little girl loves bling! And this is a 8x8 page. I've always wanted to try this size :)

Stamps: Tiny Tags, Vines and Blossoms wheel
Paper: Naturals White, Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry
Ink: Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Rich Razzleberry
Other: Paper Daisies, 2 way glue pen, Dazzling Diamons Glitter, Cosmo Fine Galaxy Glitter, Eyelet border punch, Itty Bitty Shapes punch pack, Basic Rhinestones, Vanilla Hodge Podge Hardware brad, Daffodil Delight Designer Button from the Brights assortment, crochet thread, Sticky Strip

Funky Four Swap Card

This is my other swap card for the Stampin Addicts Meet & Greet at convention. I didn't realize how patriotic this card ended up looking ;) I actually made these while I was riding in the car down to Little Falss, which is a 2-1/2 hour trip one way. I think I stamped pretty well for the constant movement! But please ignore the smeared Cherry Cobbler flower, someone recently touched it with wet hands, what were they thinking! Good thing this was my copy :)
  • Stamps: Funky Four
  • Paper: Marina Mist, Cherry Cobbler, Sahara Sand, Whisper White
  • Ink: Marina Mist, Cherry Cobbler, Sahara Sand
  • Other: Victoria crochet trim, Signo white gel pen, Basic Rhinestones, Scallop Trim border punch, Sticky Strip
Still lovin all of the new embellishments that Stampin Up has this year!! Go directly to my website and order some for yourself!

Fancy Shawl Dance page

I made this page for a color combo challenge on Stampin Addicts. I thought I would have trouble using so many colors at once, but it turned out to be no problem at all once I found the right picture in my stash of to-be-scrapbooked pictures! I'll let the journaling tell you more about the picture:

" These dancers were part of the 4th of July parade in Bemidji 2006, one of the few parades I have gotten to see since becoming a nurse :) Their costumes were so colorful and detailed, and their dancing so lively, it was a real joy to watch!"

I used  punches to cut out the popped up flowers-big time saver!
  • Stamps: Petal Pizazz, Rough Type alpha, Broadsheet Alphabet
  • Paper: Crumb Cake, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White
  • Ink:  Melon Mambo, Tempting Turquoise, Pacific Point, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive
  • Other: Scallop circle punch, Fancy Flower punch, Bitty Punch Pack, Signo white gel pen, Basic Rhinestones, Scallop Edge punch, Stampin Dimensionals
I hope you like it!

Friend 3x3 card

This little guy is one of the swaps I made for the Stampin Addicts Meet & Greet party at convention. I was not able to attend but Paula and Crissy helped me out there! Thanks so much ladies!!! As you may be able to tell, I am in love with this little owl. He is just so darn cute!  This is a 3x3 card and was pretty simple to put together. I even put a teeny tiny little pearl on the dot of the I in "friend". I had someone need to exchange the four 12x12 packs of Regal Rose paper the ordered, and it was easier for me to just keep the paper and order her the color she really needed...(cuz I am lazy about getting to the post office and she needed it fast to make wedding invites) so you are going to see the many uses of Regal Rose from me this year, lol! It's a good thing I really like this color!
  • Stamps: I (Heart) Hearts, Woodgrain BG, Pretty Pattern BG, Teahouse BG
  • Paper: Regal Rose, So Saffron, Soft Suede, Naturals White
  • Ink: Regal Rose, So Saffron, Soft Suede
  • Other: Two Step Owl punch,  Full Heart punch, Scallop Heart Embosslit with Big Shot, 3/8" Whisper White taffeta ribbon, Stampin Dimensionals, Basic Pearls
Enjoy!

More Messages!

The white foam-like base of this project is actually part of the packaging from the 6x6 albums from the Summer Mini. I knew I wanted to make a little message board with it right away! Sticky Strip sticks super good to it too, so this baby is not coming apart :) Wouldn't this be adorable on the front of a locker?! And yes, I do have a locker at work, lol! And look how well the white gel pen writes on the cork! LOVE it! The cork on this on is actually the leftover negative from the previous cork board I made. I can't seem to stop using the rhinestones either...I have found that using the tip of your paper piercer is the best way to pick them up and apply them exactly where you want them on your project.
  • Supplies: Cork, foam insert from packaging, Marina Mist 1/8" taffeta ribbon, Daffodil Delight card stock, Signo white gel pen, Sticky Strip, Basic Rhinestones
  • Tools: Scallop Square and Blossom Party dies with Big Shot, Bitty punch pack, paper piercer.

Owl Mini Milk Carton Set

I did warn you in my last post that I LOVE this little owl.... So I made this cute little set for the wonderful Crissy who is at convention right now and is going to do my swapping for me and keep me updated on the news from convention! I am not sure what I will put in these, but I better make it good! I made the owls with the same colors except I added a Pink Pirouette heart :)

The Mini Milk Carton Holder is made using Ruth Norton's tutorial here. I used the Large Oval punch though, not the Wide Oval punch. I used a couple background stamps with Crumb Cake ink to dress up the Mini Milk Cartons.

I also used the Crop-A-Dile to punch two 1/8" holes to thread the 1/8" taffeta ribbon through to hold the tops closed. This way you can still open the whole top without wrecking it :)

Something I learned the hard way is that you should punch the 1/16" circle punch hole in the Tiny Tab BEFORE you punch out the Tiny Tag, lol! Otherwise it squishes your tag!
  • Stamps: Pretty Pattern BG, Teahouse BG, Pedaling Past, Tiny Tags
  • Paper: Crumb Cake, Pink Pirouette, Pear Pizazz, Sahara Sand, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White
  • Ink: Crumb Cake, Pink Pirouette, Pear Pizazz, Sahara Sand, Chocolate Chip
  • Other: Pinking Hearts border punch, Large Oval punch, Two Step Owl punch, Tiny Tag punch, Little Leaves die with Big Shot,  Pear Pizazz ribbon, White Satin ribbon, Early Espresso and Marina Mist 1/8" taffeta ribbon. Crop-A-Dile, crochet thread, 1/16" circle punch, sponge
Here is a close up of the one carton with leaves. I decided not to put them on all of them because I don't think they would fit very well in the holder.

Leave a comment and tell me what you think I should put in these little lovlies as a Thank You to Crissy!

All Hearts Wedding Card

I made this card this morning for the Stampin Addicts SASC60 Sketch Challenge and I love how it turned out. I have vowed to use up a bunch of scraps to thin out my poor bulging scrap storage and so I have been using color combo suggestions from the new color coach to help! I actually need 2 wedding cards and I'm not sure who I will give this one too, lol! I don't know why I suddenly have to put bows on everything I make lately, I am sooo not a girlie girl! Don't you just love how well River Rock takes other colored inks?! More homemade patterned paper possibilities! The focal images are popped up with dimensionals, twice! And of course, I had to use my white gel pen.... but somehow I managed to not use any Pearls or Rhinestones. Uh-oh, am I coming down with something?!
  • Stamps: I (Heart) Hearts, Occasional Quotes
  • Paper: River Rock, Baja Breeze, Bravo Burgundy, Very Vanilla
  • Ink: River Rock, Baja Breeze, Bravo Burgundy
  • Other: Scallop Square punch, Very Vanilla Taffeta ribbon, Stampin Dimensionals, Pinking Hearts Border punch, Signo white gel pen, Sticky Strip
Here is the inside of the card. Great sentiments in the new Level 3 hostess set Occasional Quotes! I think I will be decorating the inside of my cards alot more now... not because of the set, but because it really adds something to the card :)

Owl Corkboard

This project let me use several of the new goodies I got from the new catty! I was soooo excited to open my box, I almost couldn't decide what to play with first! The cork is one of those new things. I think the only not-new things are the Jumbo Eyelet, the Scallop Square die, and the Little Leaves sizzlet die!

One of the things in the new catty that I have fallen in love with is this little owl punch. One punch punches out all the little pieces to make this adorable little guy! And it is easy to only punch what you need in each color too. I have seen lots of dark brown owls made with this, but I prefer the more muted colors. Most owls I have seen blend into their surroundings well. This little guy is made with Crumb Cake and Sahara Sand, and the dark brown is Chocolate Chip. I also used the Chocolate Chip marker brush tip to ink the edges of the owl body and belly to more clearly define them. It only takes a moment and it really makes the layers pop.

The Paper Daisy at the top is died using Daffodil Delight and Poppy Parade and an Aquapainter. I tell you, these daisies are adorable! And there are so many cool techniques you can use on them! The center is one of the new Vintage brads with one of the smallest Pearls in the very center. LOVE these too! I swear I have used about 1/4 of the package of 150 pearls, and about the same of the rhinestones!!!
  • Stamps: Tiny Tags
  • Paper: Whipser White, Pear Pizazz, Sahara Sand, Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip
  • Ink: Daffodil Delight, Poppy Parade, Sahara Sand, Crumb Cake, Blushing Bride, Chocolate Chip
  • Other: Tiny Tag punch, Two Step Owl punch, Scallop Square and Little Leaves dies with Big Shot, Paper Daisy, Vintage Brad, Basic Pearl, Aquapainter, Jumbo Eyelet, Crop-A-Dile, Cork, Blushing Bride ribbon, Sticky Strip

Thanks You cards for my girl!

Ok, my daughter works for a chain of bike shops called Erik's Bike Shop and she earns commision on her sales. When I say the Pedaling Past stamp set, I fell in love with it and I also thought that they would fabulous for my daughter to use to try and get some steady customers for herself. So.... I made a few Thank You cards for her to give to those special customers to help them remember her a little better ;) This is a pic of the stack I sent her. I stamped the "Enjoy the journey" stamp in Early Espresso and the border stamp in Baja Breeze on the inside, which I thought was o appropriate for someone who just purchased an expensive bicycle!
  • Stamps: Pedaling Past
  • Paper: Very Vanilla, Early Espresso, Baja Breeze
  • Ink: Early Espresso
  • Other: Marina Mist 1/8" taffeta ribbon, Scallop oval, Large oval, and Small oval punches, Signo white gel pen, Sticky Strip

These are 3x3 notes and I used the 3x3 envelopes and stamped the envelop and the flap with the border stamp in Baja Breeze also.
Now, I just hope they help my daughter out!

Rose and Dakota

My kids each got their own dogs in 2002, and this is Rose. Dakota and his dog and practically joined at the hip and we wouldn't have it any other way :) I was Busy trying to get everything ready for Dakota's graduation parties and I was pooling together all of the scrapbook pages I have done featuring Dakota and I noticed that I didn't have any of Dakota with Rose.... She is a huge part of his life. I then put this page together (realizing we have too few pictures of him WITH his dog) and I am really happy with how it turned out. I think I combined elements of a card sketch I saw, but I can't really remember. I liked how this turned out so well that I used this layout for the July 1st Stamp Club page.  I'll post that with the rest of the projects from club though :)
