Remember you early hoppers, we work out the kinks on Sunday evening my time, so if you run in to links that don't work, or incomplete posts, come back after midnight, US Central Time and it will be working just fine.
If this is your first time hopping with us, then I should tell you that we are an international group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators that gets together every first and third Monday of the month to feature a single stamp set. We share lots of ideas for that set to get you excited and inspired :) You can check out the master blog roll on our home blog, and find all of our past hops, and all of the links will take you directly to the posts you are looking for!
If you are following along in order, then I am the second stop and you just arrived from Holly Stene's blog where she did amazing this with this set, I am sure!
I was so excited to use this set for a couple of reasons. I love this set. And Dies by Dave has a set of dies that coordinated with it, so I could make these amazingly detailed die cuts of the images!! I used 2 of the dies from that set on this card. I stamped the "world's greatest" and the tools image in Archival Black on Watercolor paper, used an Aqua-painter to color them with a touch of Tip Top Taupe, then die cut them. The rest just fell into place :)
I love the combination of inside and outside of the card sentiments in this set! I want more of this kind of sentiment, and we are getting it in the next catalog!! So excited :)
This one came to me in a flash of inspiration while playing on Pinterest Saturday. I was not even looking for ideas for this hop, I was just doing some blog work! Anyway, I was looking at some awesome doodles in a Moleskin notebook, and this card idea just popped into my head! Well, ok, it was in black and white in my head. But I had been thinking earlier that I needed to do a card with lots of color. I mean, just because you are a guy doesn't mean you don't like color! And this is a 5"x7" card also. I needed a bigger canvas to work on :)
While I am quite pleased with the way the card front turned out on this one, I am not so sure about the inside. Parts of it turned out to my liking. The anchors look good I think. But the hats are too linear, not enough radiating... Oh well.
I was really on a roll on Saturday! This was another flash of inspiration that practically made itself! I was reminiscing about our recent cruise, and thinking about how much I love to just stand at the rail and watch the ocean slip by. The colors of blue are so vibrant and pure!
See what I mean? I just took Pool Party and Pacific Point inkpads and some sponges, sponged onto some watercolor paper, then spritzed with some pearlized water (mix a little Perfect Pearls in some water in a little spray bottle). After letting the spritzed water sit for about a minute, I dabbed off the excess and dried with my heat tool. The anchor is another one of the dies in the set from Dies by Dave.
The anchor is inked up in Pacific Point, stamped off once, then repeatedly stamped up one side of the card. I really like these two colors together!
Ok, now let's go see what Kelly Kent has in store for us, I am sure it is fabulous Darling!
