Sorry today's post is so late! I had to make something to post because you all were due for a card, and the other posts I have scheduled aren't cards, or if they are cards, they are for swaps that haven't closed yet :) Time for a little Christmas anyway, since we are all going to have our Christmas cards all ready to go by Dec. 1st right....yeah, right!
This card uses the Mojo Monday sketch from TODAY, believe it or not. And I am using the Stampin Addicts Friday Color Combo Challenge from just this past Friday. I know, unbelievable! I am using current challenges!
Lots of the new Christmas stuff on this card. It just came together so easily! I wouldn't necessarily make a ton of these, probably just a few for the really special people.I used the "Bisque" technique on the panel on the left. Basically you ink one side pf the embossing folder (the part that will be flat on the finished product). I used River Rock here. I inked up the Northern Hearts hostess set for the first time today! The right panel is stamped with various snowflakes in Soft Suede, Baja Breeze, Whisper White, and Frost White Shimmer Paint. I used White craft ink on the Northern Trim Letterpress plate on Soft Suede card stock and it turned out beautifully and was very easy! I did have to add a couple paper shims to my sandwich, but I have been using the same cutting plates for over a year and if you follow my blog, you know I use my Big Shot almost constantly! The one I use for the cutting side is getting a bit warped :) But then, every Big Shot is just a titch different and sandwiches have to be individually adjusted.
I even used some Seam Binding ribbon and Tinsel. I didn't think I would use the Tinsel much, but I really like it. I found the best way to secure it is with Scotch tape to the back of a layer. It isn't so bulky that you can't use glue to adhere the layer either. And yes, I did notice that my sentiment is crooked....sigh. That will teach me to be in a rush! I was trying to hurry and finish this so I could post it!
